Raja Shyamala Homa is a fire rite offered to Raja Shyamala Devi, the Mantrini — the counsellor and minister of Sri Lalita Tripurasundari. Where the Mother rules, Shyamala speaks, plans and arranges. She holds the veena, and her domain is sound: language, memory, argument, the ordered word. In the Srividya tradition she is approached by those whose work is done with the mind and the tongue — students, teachers, scholars, anyone who must recall under pressure and speak with precision.
This is a Maha-tier homa, and it is treated as one. The fire is raised with full purva-anga, the Shyamala mantra is offered with sustained japa and ahutis, and the sankalpa carries your name, your birth star and your specific study or examination. Tradition does not offer the homa as a shortcut past effort. It offers it as an alignment — the mind steadied, the distraction thinned, the labour you already put in allowed to hold and surface when it is needed.

A Maha Homa is never a group ceremony, the same as any homa we conduct. What the scale changes is the weight of the offering — ten trained voices holding one hymn for two hours is a different undertaking from one voice for an hour, and it is reserved for the intentions that warrant it.

How to wear your energised Raja Shyamala Yantra
Your auspicious time to wear it
Wear it for the first time on the day named in your dispatch email, between 6.30 and 7.30 in the morning. Bathe first, place the yantra on your pooja altar and offer your prayers, then wear it around your neck or your waist, on a red or black thread or a silver chain.
At a funeral
Take the yantra off before you attend a funeral.
Purify the amulet
Whenever the yantra has been taken off, or if it was worn at a funeral, dip it in raw milk or Ganga jal, show it incense, dhoop or attar (perfume), and then wear it again.
Keep the energy intact
You may repeat this energising once a week or once a month.

Raja Shyamala Avahana
The mula mantra of Raja Shyamala is chanted, inviting the deity's presence into the fire — by five or ten priests as your scale sets.
Ahuti
Ghee and akshata, with the flowers, grains and dravyas proper to this deity, are offered in sequence with mantra. Each priest makes 216 of these offerings with the mula mantra of Raja Shyamala — 1,080 or 2,160 in all, by package.
Purnahuti
The final complete offering seals the sankalpa stated at the opening.

Raja Shyamala (Matangi)
The Shyamala Dandakam is a Sanskrit hymn to Shyamala, the dark daughter of the sage Matanga, and tradition gives it to the poet Kalidasa. It opens with four short meditation verses that set her before the eye: a ruby-studded vina in her hands, a body the colour of sapphire, a Kadamba grove for a home and a pet parrot for company. Then the metre changes. What follows is a dandaka, a long chain of compound epithets in the vocative, each ending in -e, that places her on a jewelled island in an ocean of nectar and then describes her from hair-knot to toenails. Gods bow until their crowns redden her feet, and Ganesha, the eight Bhairavas and the Matrikas attend her throne. The prose then turns to who worships her, Krishna and Brahma among them, and to the parrot, described down to the three coloured lines on its throat. It closes by naming her the soul of every mantra, yantra and holy seat.
