The Ritual and Its Weight
The Rajagopala Homa is offered to Krishna in his Rajagopala form — the cowherd who is also a king, the one whose flute drew the gopis across the dark to the Yamuna. In the Vaishnava tradition of the South, particularly around the Rajagopalaswamy sampradaya of Mannargudi, this form is invoked when a marriage must be made, mended or hastened. The rite is a Standard homa: measured, complete, worked through with the Gopala mantra offered into the fire ghee-drop by ghee-drop.

A note on sacred tradition
As per strict Agama vidhi, no videography is permitted inside the temple sanctum — this preserves the pure sacred energies and undisturbed divine focus of the ritual. The main homa is respectfully telecast live from outside the sanctum.
Homas are telecast openly on our YouTube channel so that devotees everywhere may witness the rituals — and because we believe you should be able to see our work before you trust us with yours. Your sankalpa names you and your family, so if you would rather your ceremony were not public, choose the private telecast option at checkout and it is streamed as an unlisted link visible only to you.
We state this plainly — transparency about what tradition forbids filming, and about what is public, is part of performing these rituals honestly.
How to wear your energised Rajagopala Yantra
The energised yantra is carefully rolled and sealed inside a sacred silver amulet before shipping. Wearing it is itself a small ritual — and even its timing is set for you personally.

Purify the amulet
Dip the silver amulet in raw milk or Ganga jal for an hour before wearing, then clean with normal water.
Face East or North
Perform the wearing process facing east or north for maximum benefit.
Offer dheep & dhoop
Show lamp and incense to the amulet before wearing it.

Around your neck or waist, on a thread or chain.

Sankalpa
The priest states your name, gotra and nakshatra — and those of up to five family members — with the intention this homa is performed for.
Ganapati Puja
The customary invocation to Ganapati, clearing obstacles before the deity is approached.
Agni Pratishtha
The fire is consecrated in the homa kunda and Agni invoked as the carrier of every offering that follows.
Rajagopala Avahana
The mula mantra of Rajagopala is chanted, inviting the deity's presence into the fire — by one, three or five priests as your package sets.
Ahuti
Ghee and akshata, with the flowers, grains and dravyas proper to this deity, are offered in sequence with mantra.
Purnahuti
The final complete offering seals the sankalpa stated at the opening.

Rajagopala
Rajagopala is Krishna beheld as the royal cowherd, the figure in whom the intimate pastoral sweetness of Gopala meets the sovereign dignity of a king. The conception is native to the Tamil Vaishnava landscape and finds its clearest embodiment in the temple of Sri Vidya Rajagopalaswamy at Mannargudi, where the deity is also called Rajamannar. There he stands as the youthful lord who holds the shepherd’s staff yet wears the bearing of rightful rule, flanked by his consorts Rukmini and Satyabhama or by the local goddesses of the shrine. Theologically the name joins rāja—the principle of generous protection and ordered kingship—with gopāla, the guardian of cows and of the cowherd community. Devotees who turn to this form contemplate the Krishna of the Vrindavan lilas without relinquishing the majesty that later belongs to Mathura and Dvaraka. The iconography favours a dark-hued, gracefully poised figure, often in tribhanga, adorned with garlands and the peacock feather, the eyes holding both playfulness and calm authority.
