The Ritual and Its Weight

Sankata means crisis — the tight, closing situation with no visible exit. A summons you did not expect. A property claim that has dragged through three generations. A hearing adjourned again. The Sankata Hara Ganesha Homam is the fire rite addressed to Ganesha in his form as the destroyer of such crises, offered when a matter has hardened into litigation and ordinary effort no longer shifts it.

In the Ganesha tradition no undertaking begins without him, because he governs the threshold — the doorway between intention and outcome. A legal matter is nothing but a long corridor of thresholds: filings, notices, adjournments, appeals. The sankata hara ganesha homam places your case at his feet before each of those doors, asking that obstruction be lifted, that speech be clear when you must speak, and that the truth of the matter be seen.

ॐ गं गणपतये सर्वविघ्नहराय सर्वाय सर्वगुरवे लम्बोदराय ह्रीं गं नमः Salutations to Ganapati, remover of every obstacle, the all-pervading one, teacher of all, the large-bellied Lord — may the way ahead be opened.
Why devotees book this

Benefits of the Sankata Hara Ganesha Homam

Devotees turn to this homam when a dispute has entered the courts and the waiting has become its own burden. The tradition prescribes it for the following.

Relief in pending litigation

Offered when a case has stalled, been adjourned repeatedly, or grown heavier with each date.

Clarity before a hearing

Sought before appearances, depositions and mediations, so that you speak plainly and remember what matters.

Removal of procedural obstruction

Invoked against the small blockages that stretch a case for years — missing records, lost notices, delayed filings.

Steadiness against opposition

Traditionally offered when adversaries are many or influential, asking that ill will find no purchase.

A fair reading of the truth

The prayer is not for victory over another but for the facts of your matter to be seen as they are.

Peace while the matter runs

For the anxiety, sleeplessness and family strain that a long dispute brings to a household.

What changes

Only the number of priests: 1, 3 or 5. Every priest makes their own offerings, and all of them perform at the same time, in one ceremony.

108 ahutis by each priest, with the mula mantra of Sankata Hara Ganapati — so 108, 324 or 540 in all, by package.

Step 1 How many priests will perform your homam?

Not sure which homam, or which package? Get a free ritual suggestion.

Send your name, date, time and place of birth and your concern; our astrologers tell you which rite to perform, from your chart (by Prashna if your birth time is unknown). We do not answer questions about the future, such as marriage or jobs. Reply within 24–48 hours.

A different number of ahutis prescribed? Our priests arrange a customised homam — WhatsApp or call; they confirm the count, the priests, the duration and the price before you book.

Step 2 Enhance with the 48-Day Anushthan? (optional)

* Your Sankata Hara Ganapati Yantra is a copper plate approx. 1–2 inches, rolled and sealed inside a silver amulet approx. 2–4 inches. Sizes are approximate and the amulet's design varies between supplier batches — shape, metal and consecration remain the same.

Sacred timing

The most auspicious days for a Sankata Hara Ganesha Homam

Ganesha rites follow the moon and the week.

Sankashti Chaturthi

The fourth tithi of the waning moon, the day named for this very form. The most sought-after date for the sankata hara ganesha homam.

Vinayaka Chaturthi

The fourth tithi of the waxing moon, kept when a new phase of the matter begins — a fresh filing, an appeal, a first hearing.

Tuesday, Angaraki Chaturthi

When Chaturthi falls on a Tuesday, the day is held especially strong for matters of conflict and contested claims.

Before a listed date

Many devotees book the homam in the days immediately preceding a hearing, judgment or settlement meeting.

You do not need to wait for one of these days. Whenever you book, our astrologers calculate the muhurta from your own birth chart — a date chosen for you personally, which tradition regards as more precise than a calendar date chosen for everyone. If you would like the homam on one of the days above, tell us at checkout and we will fix the muhurta within it.

Every package, and the 48-day option

What you receive

The sealing of the Sankata Hara Ganapati Yantra

The Sankata Hara Ganapati Yantra is consecrated over three days — Jala (holy-water consecration with mantras), Prana (life force through pranayama & chants) and Jeeva Pratishta (awakened with 108 recitations & offerings) — then present through your homam, receiving the energies raised in the fire. When your homam concludes, it is rolled and locked inside its silver amulet according to Agama vidhi — the practice by which those energies are held within a consecrated object rather than dispersing. It is why a homam performed at our ashram can still reach a devotee ten thousand miles away: what the fire raised travels to you, sealed.

Personal sankalpa

Your name, gotra & nakshatra — and up to four family members if you wish. No one else is named.

Hear yours read back, as the priest will say it →

Live telecast

Prasadam, shipped free

Yantra Pujas inside our consecrated sanctum

48-Day Anushthan (optional) — daily pujas for 48 days — the 27 Nakshatras + 12 Rashis + 9 Planets — then sealed in a silver amulet of approximately 2–4 inches. Performed in our consecrated sanctum at the Yagna Ashram.

A note on sacred tradition

As per strict Agama vidhi, no videography is permitted inside the temple sanctum — this preserves the pure sacred energies and undisturbed divine focus of the ritual. The main homam is respectfully telecast live from outside the sanctum.

Homas are telecast openly on our YouTube channel so that devotees everywhere may witness the rituals — and because we believe you should be able to see our work before you trust us with yours. Your sankalpa names you and any family members you add, so if you would rather your ceremony were not public, choose the private telecast option at checkout and it is streamed as an unlisted link, which does not appear on our channel or in search, though anyone who has the link can watch it and share it.

We state this plainly — transparency about what tradition forbids filming, and about what is public, is part of performing these rituals honestly.

After it arrives

How to wear your energised Sankata Hara Ganapati Yantra

01

Your auspicious time to wear it

Wear it for the first time on a Tuesday, between 6.30 and 7.30 in the morning. Bathe first, place the yantra on your pooja altar and offer your prayers, then wear it around your neck or your waist, on a red or black thread or a silver chain.

02

At a funeral

Take the yantra off before you attend a funeral.

03

Purify the amulet

Whenever the yantra has been taken off, or if it was worn at a funeral, dip it in raw milk or Ganga jal, show it incense, dhoop or attar (perfume), and then wear it again.

04

Keep the energy intact

You may repeat this energising once a week or once a month.

Who is invoked

Sankata Hara Ganesha

Pranamya Shirasa Devam, the Sankatanashana Ganesha Stotram (also printed Sankashta Nashana Ganesha Stotram), is a short Sanskrit hymn in which the sage Narada teaches twelve names of Ganesha, the son of Gauri. Its closing line places it in the Narada Purana. The hymn has eight verses in the anushtubh metre and falls into two equal halves. Verse 1 tells the listener to bow the head and keep Vinayaka in mind, the one in whom devotees take shelter. Verses 2 to 4 then count the names off by number, first to twelfth: Vakratunda, Ekadanta, Krishnapingaksha, Gajavaktra, Lambodara, Vikata, Vighnaraja, Dhumravarna, Bhalachandra, Vinayaka, Ganapati and Gajanana. Each name is a single picture of him: the curved trunk, the one tusk, the smoke-grey colour, the moon on the brow. Verses 5 to 8 are the phala shruti. They say what tradition holds the names give, and they close by asking that the hymn be written out and given to eight Brahmins.

In this homam that grace is invoked through fire, with your own name and birth details spoken in the sankalpa.

Questions

Frequently asked

The Sankata Hara Ganesha Homam, also known as Sankata Hara Ganesha Havan, is a Vedic fire ritual offered to Ganesha in his aspect as Sankata Hara Ganapati, the one who removes sankata, the crisis that closes in from every side. Ghee, samidha and other offerings are given into the consecrated fire as the priests chant. Its significance in legal matters comes from Ganesha's rule over thresholds and beginnings: a court matter is a long sequence of doors, and this homam asks that each one open.
Tradition prescribes this homam for relief in pending court cases, for the removal of procedural delay and obstruction, for clarity of speech and mind before hearings, for steadiness when opposition is strong, and for peace of mind in a household carrying a long dispute. The prayer is not for victory over another but for the facts of your matter to be seen as they are. It is offered as prayer, and alongside your legal counsel, never in place of it.
This homam is for anyone with a matter before a court, tribunal or arbitrator, whether plaintiff or defendant. It is commonly booked for property and inheritance disputes, contract and business litigation, service and employment matters, and family court proceedings, often shortly before a hearing, judgment or settlement meeting. Our priests perform it on your behalf at our Yagna Ashram, as one private ceremony for you and up to four family members, and you watch the live telecast from wherever you are.
Our priests perform it at our Yagna Ashram, beginning with achamana and Ganapati puja, then taking the sankalpa in your name, gotra and nakshatra, naming the dispute. The kunda is prepared and Agni invoked, and Ganesha is installed and worshipped with the traditional upacharas. The ahutis follow, every priest making their own offerings of ghee, durva grass, modaka, coconut, banana, sesame, jaggery, navadhanya and the prescribed samidha. The rite closes with purnahuti, deeparadhana, prarthana and prasadam. Everything used is arranged by us, and you watch it all on live telecast.
You can book the Sankata Hara Ganesha Homam with one, three or five priests. Each package is the complete homam, with the same ritual stages and the same kinds of offerings, performed privately for you and up to four family members and never combined with another booking. What changes is the number of priests: every priest makes their own ahutis, the offerings into the fire, and all of them perform at the same time, in one ceremony. An ahuti count is a count of these offerings, not a japa count, which measures repetitions of a mantra. Each priest makes 108 ahutis: 108 in all with one priest, 324 with three and 540 with five, in approximately 1 hour. A larger package adds priests and offerings, not a second ceremony. Choose the scale that fits your intention, preference and budget; the one-priest homam is complete in itself, and no package guarantees a particular result.
Yes. Our listed Sankata Hara Ganesha Homam packages specify standard ahuti counts and priest numbers. If your astrologer has prescribed a different count, we can arrange a customised homam following review by our priests. Please share your requirements with our Devotee Relationship Team on +91 96295 55442. The team will confirm the ahuti count, number of priests, approximate duration and total price before you book. Your customised homam remains a private ceremony dedicated to your sankalpa, never combined with other customers' bookings.
About an hour, whichever package you choose: the priests perform together and make their offerings at the same time, so three or five priests do not lengthen the ceremony. Your muhurta, the date and time, is confirmed by email within 24–48 working hours of booking, and the live telecast link arrives the day before, so you can follow every stage wherever you are.
You do not need to wait for an auspicious day. Whenever you book, our astrologers calculate the muhurta from your own birth chart — a date chosen for you personally, which tradition regards as more precise than a calendar date chosen for everyone. If you would prefer one of the days traditionally sacred to Sankata Hara Ganapati — Sankashti Chaturthi (the Chaturthi of the waning moon, named for this very form), Vinayaka Chaturthi, or Angaraki Chaturthi (a Chaturthi that falls on a Tuesday) — tell us in the notes at checkout and we will fix the muhurta within it. If a hearing date is approaching, mention it too, and our priests will recommend a muhurta that sits well before it. Our Panchang shows the tithi and nakshatra for any date.
Yes. What directs a homam is its sankalpa: the solemn resolve the priest makes before the fire is kindled, stating who the homam is for and what it is offered for. The deity invoked and the ritual remain the same; the purpose is yours, as your astrologer has advised it. So if you have been advised the Sankata Hara Ganesha Homam for a reason other than those on this page, write that purpose in your own words in the “Your sankalpa” box on the birth-details page, straight after payment, and the priest will state it in the sankalpa with your name, gotra and nakshatra. If the advice also names a date, a number of ahutis or a number of priests, mention it in the notes at checkout, or call our Devotee Relationship Team on +91 96295 55442 before you book.
Book the Sankata Hara Ganesha Homam online on this page, from India or from any other country; devotees living abroad book it the same way, and prices are shown in your currency. Choose one, three or five priests, and straight after payment add your name, gotra if you know it and your birth star, with your prayer for the homam in the “Your sankalpa” box. Your muhurta is confirmed by email within 24–48 working hours and the live telecast link arrives the day before, so you can watch the entire homam live, wherever you are. Afterwards, prasadam and your energised Sankata Hara Ganapati Yantra are couriered to you anywhere in the world, free of shipping cost.
Every Sankata Hara Ganesha Homam package includes the energised Sankata Hara Ganapati Yantra: a copper plate of about 1–2 inches, consecrated over three days and present in the fire through your homam. It is then rolled and sealed inside a silver amulet of about 2–4 inches, made to be worn, and couriered to you with your prasadam, free of shipping cost, usually reaching you in 1–2 weeks within India and 2–4 weeks internationally from the homam’s completion; the tracking email gives your personal time to wear it. If you add the optional 48-Day Anushthan, the yantra is also worshipped daily in our consecrated sanctum for 48 days before it is sealed.
Our silver amulets are specially made for everyday wear: copper is added to the silver to make them more durable. With regular use, the amulet may turn black, reddish or brown as it is exposed to heat and reacts with the chemicals in cosmetics. Wipe it regularly with a soft, dry cotton cloth, keep perfume and cosmetics away from it, and clean it by rubbing it gently with a pinch of vibhuti (sacred ash). Every six months, polish it with cotton dipped in a silver cleaner, but never soak or dip the amulet itself. Never open it, as the energies of the yantra are sealed inside. If it is ever damaged, send it back to us, not to a jeweller.

Your ritual date is an auspicious muhurta calculated personally for you — not a slot on a rota. Once it is confirmed, rescheduling from the customer's side is not available, and cancellation does not carry a refund. If we ever have to move your ritual for unforeseen reasons at the ashram, we will inform you immediately and provide a fresh auspicious date at no cost — and your telecast, recording, prasadam and yantra remain exactly as promised.

Read the full refund and cancellation policy.
