Thirty years in one discipline
Brahmashree Shivaaya, 43, began his training in the traditional way — within a lineage, from the age of five — and has practised Vedic astrology for three decades since. At AstroBhava he is the Chief Operating Officer & Head of Astrological & Spiritual Solutions: the astrologer who calculates the muhurta for every ritual performed at the Yagna Ashram, and the man who personally recruits and examines every priest who serves there.
Alongside the lineage training sits formal study — a postgraduate degree in Hindu Philosophy from International Hindu University in the United States, an MBA from the University of Leicester in the United Kingdom, and a Master of Arts in Yoga for Human Excellence from Bharathiar University in India — and teaching: he has conducted workshops across four countries.
