The Ritual and Its Weight

The Baneshi Homam belongs to the family of marriage rites in the Vedic fire tradition. Where a horoscope shows the seventh house pressed upon, where proposals arrive and dissolve, where a household has grown weary of waiting — this is the homam the tradition turns to. Ghee, grains, sesame and fragrant woods are offered into the consecrated fire while the sankalpa carries your name, your star and your intention into the flame.

Marriage in our tradition is never treated as a private arrangement alone. It is a knot tied in the presence of Agni, and Agni is asked first. The Baneshi Homam is that asking. Priests seat the fire, invoke Baneshi, and place each offering with mantra so that obstruction loosens, tempers cool, and the path to a suitable alliance is prayed clear. Devotees also book the baneshi homam for an existing marriage that has turned brittle — for the return of patience and warmth between two people.

Why devotees book this

Benefits of the Baneshi Homam

The Baneshi Homam is prescribed in the Love & Marriage tradition for these intentions. What follows is what the rite is offered for, in the words of the tradition.

For a suitable life partner

Offered when the search for a match has gone on long — a prayer for the right alliance to appear and hold.

For delays that keep repeating

Traditionally taken up when talks advance and then stall again and again, to pray such obstruction away.

For harmony between husband and wife

Sought by couples living with friction, coldness or constant argument, asking for patience and affection to return.

For the strength of the seventh house

Performed on the counsel of an astrologer when marriage-related placements in the chart are seen as needing propitiation.

For peace in the wider household

Marriage joins two families. The homam is offered so that goodwill, not suspicion, surrounds a new alliance.

For a family carrying the worry

Parents and siblings often book the baneshi homam on behalf of an unmarried son or daughter, wherever in the world they live.

Sacred timing

The most auspicious days for a Baneshi Homam

Marriage rites are timed with care.

Fridays and Shukla Paksha

Fridays, and the waxing fortnight generally, are held auspicious for rites of union and increase — a favoured day for this homam.

Rohini, Uttara Phalguni, Uttara Ashadha, Hasta, Swati, Magha, Mula

The nakshatras long counted as vivaha-friendly. Where the calendar allows, the homam is set on one of these.

Magha and Phalguna months

The classical marriage season in the Hindu calendar, when alliances are traditionally begun and blessed.

Before a fixed alliance or wedding

Many devotees have the homam performed in the days before an engagement, a horoscope match or the wedding itself.

You do not need to wait for one of these days. Whenever you book, our astrologers calculate the muhurta from your own birth chart — a date chosen for you personally, which tradition regards as more precise than a calendar date chosen for everyone. If you would like the homam on one of the days above, tell us at checkout and we will fix the muhurta within it.

Every package, and the 48-day option

What you receive

The sealing of the Baneshi Yantra

The Baneshi Yantra is consecrated over three days — Jala (holy-water consecration with mantras), Prana (life force through pranayama & chants) and Jeeva Pratishta (awakened with 108 recitations & offerings) — then present through your homam, receiving the energies raised in the fire. When your homam concludes, it is rolled and locked inside its silver amulet according to Agama vidhi — the practice by which those energies are held within a consecrated object rather than dispersing. It is why a homam performed at our ashram can still reach a devotee ten thousand miles away: what the fire raised travels to you, sealed.

Personal sankalpa

Your name, gotra & nakshatra — and up to four family members if you wish. No one else is named.

Hear yours read back, as the priest will say it →

Live telecast

Watch your own homam in real time from the ashram. Streamed openly on our YouTube channel by default — or request an unlisted telecast at checkout.

Free energised Baneshi Yantra, sealed in a silver amulet

Shipped to you with your prasadam.

Prasadam, shipped free

Sacred vibhuti, sandalwood powder & kumkum from your fire — delivered to any country.

Yantra Pujas inside our consecrated sanctum

48-Day Anushthan (optional) — daily pujas for 48 days — the 27 Nakshatras + 12 Rashis + 9 Planets — then sealed in a silver amulet of approximately 2–4 inches. Performed in our consecrated sanctum at the Yagna Ashram.

A note on sacred tradition

As per strict Agama vidhi, no videography is permitted inside the temple sanctum — this preserves the pure sacred energies and undisturbed divine focus of the ritual. The main homam is respectfully telecast live from outside the sanctum.

Homas are telecast openly on our YouTube channel so that devotees everywhere may witness the rituals — and because we believe you should be able to see our work before you trust us with yours. Your sankalpa names you and any family members you add, so if you would rather your ceremony were not public, choose the private telecast option at checkout and it is streamed as an unlisted link, which does not appear on our channel or in search, though anyone who has the link can watch it and share it.

We state this plainly — transparency about what tradition forbids filming, and about what is public, is part of performing these rituals honestly.

After it arrives

How to wear your energised Baneshi Yantra

01

Your auspicious time to wear it

Wear it for the first time on a Friday, between 6.30 and 7.30 in the morning. Bathe first, place the yantra on your pooja altar and offer your prayers, then wear it around your neck or your waist, on a red or black thread or a silver chain.

02

At a funeral

Take the yantra off before you attend a funeral.

03

Purify the amulet

Whenever the yantra has been taken off, or if it was worn at a funeral, dip it in raw milk or Ganga jal, show it incense, dhoop or attar (perfume), and then wear it again.

04

Keep the energy intact

You may repeat this energising once a week or once a month.

Inside the fire ritual

How your Baneshi Homam is performed

01

Sankalpa

The priest states your name, gotra and nakshatra — and those of up to four family members — with the intention this homam is performed for.

02

Ganapati Puja

The customary invocation to Ganapati, clearing obstacles before the deity is approached.

03

Agni Pratishtha

The fire is consecrated in the homa kunda and Agni invoked as the carrier of every offering that follows.

04

Baneshi Avahana

The mula mantra of Baneshi Devi is chanted, inviting the deity's presence into the fire — by one, three or five priests as your package sets.

05

Ahuti

Ghee and akshata, with the flowers, grains and dravyas proper to this deity, are offered in sequence with mantra. Each priest makes 108 of these offerings with the mula mantra of Baneshi Devi — 108, 324 or 540 in all, by package.

06

Purnahuti

The final complete offering seals the sankalpa stated at the opening.

07

Aarti & Dispatch

Aarti is performed live on your telecast. Vibhuti, sandalwood powder, kumkum and your energised Baneshi Yantra are then packed and shipped free to your door.

Who is invoked

Baneshi Devi

Baneshi Devi is the Goddess this homam is named for — a regional form of Devi, received by her own name in the ashram's tradition. Hers is the fire devotees light for the union still waiting to happen: the partner unmet, the wedding postponed, the home that wants peace.

In the homam she is honoured as Devi is honoured. Agni is kindled as witness and carrier, her mula mantra is chanted, and each offering rises with her name spoken over it — in the name, gotra and nakshatra of the devotee for whom this fire alone burns.

In this homam that grace is invoked through fire, with your own name and birth details spoken in the sankalpa.

Questions

Frequently asked

The Baneshi Homam, also known as Baneshi Havan, is a Vedic fire ritual from the family of marriage rites, offered to Baneshi Devi for marriage prospects, marital harmony and the easing of delays. Its significance lies in the old understanding that a marriage is sanctioned before Agni: it is a knot tied in the presence of the fire, and Agni is asked first. Ghee, grains, sesame and sacred woods are offered with mantra while your sankalpa names your intention, so that what obstructs an alliance is prayed away and what supports it is invoked.
The Baneshi Homam is traditionally prescribed for finding a suitable life partner, for relief from repeated delays and broken talks, for harmony between spouses, for peace between the two families, and for propitiation where an astrologer reads the marriage-related houses of a chart as needing it. The rite is an offering and a prayer, undertaken with faith.
The Baneshi Homam is taken up by anyone seeking marriage — and just as often by parents or siblings on that person's behalf. Couples living with prolonged discord also book it, and devotees who have been advised a marriage-related remedy by an astrologer commonly choose this homam. You do not perform it yourself: our qualified priests perform it for you at our Yagna Ashram, with a sankalpa that can name you and up to four family members, and you watch the live telecast from wherever you are.
The priests begin with achamana, Ganapati puja and your sankalpa in your name, gotra and birth star. The homa kunda is prepared, Agni is invoked, and Baneshi Devi is invoked and worshipped. The ahutis follow: cow ghee, sesame, rice, navadhanya, honey, sacred woods such as palasha and samagri herbs, every priest making their own offerings in the one ceremony. Purnahuti closes the offerings, and the rite ends with aarti, prarthana and prasadam. You watch it all on live telecast.
You can book the Baneshi Homam with one, three or five priests. Each package is the complete homam, with the same ritual stages and the same kinds of offerings, performed privately for you and up to four family members and never combined with another booking. What changes is the number of priests: every priest makes their own ahutis, the offerings into the fire, and all of them perform at the same time, in one ceremony. An ahuti count is a count of these offerings, not a japa count, which measures repetitions of a mantra. Each priest makes 108 ahutis: 108 in all with one priest, 324 with three and 540 with five, in approximately 1 hour. A larger package adds priests and offerings, not a second ceremony. Choose the scale that fits your intention, preference and budget; the one-priest homam is complete in itself, and no package guarantees a particular result.
Yes. Our listed Baneshi Homam packages specify standard ahuti counts and priest numbers. If your astrologer has prescribed a different count, we can arrange a customised homam following review by our priests. Please share your requirements with our Devotee Relationship Team on +91 96295 55442. The team will confirm the ahuti count, number of priests, approximate duration and total price before you book. Your customised homam remains a private ceremony dedicated to your sankalpa, never combined with other customers' bookings.
About an hour, whichever package you choose: the priests perform together and make their offerings at the same time, so three or five priests do not lengthen the ceremony. Your muhurta, the date and time, is confirmed by email within 24–48 working hours of booking, and the live telecast link arrives the day before, so you can follow every stage wherever you are.
You do not need to wait for an auspicious day. Whenever you book, our astrologers calculate the muhurta from your own birth chart — a date chosen for you personally, which tradition regards as more precise than a calendar date chosen for everyone. If you would prefer one of the days traditionally sacred to Baneshi Devi — a Friday or any day of the bright fortnight, Rohini, Uttara Phalguni, Uttara Ashadha, Hasta, Swati, Magha or Mula nakshatra, or the months of Magha and Phalguna — tell us in the notes at checkout and we will fix the muhurta within it. If a wedding or engagement date is set, mention it too, and our priests will recommend a muhurta that sits well before it. Our Panchang shows the tithi and nakshatra for any date.
Yes. What directs a homam is its sankalpa: the solemn resolve the priest makes before the fire is kindled, stating who the homam is for and what it is offered for. The deity invoked and the ritual remain the same; the purpose is yours, as your astrologer has advised it. So if you have been advised the Baneshi Homam for a reason other than those on this page, write that purpose in your own words in the “Your sankalpa” box on the birth-details page, straight after payment, and the priest will state it in the sankalpa with your name, gotra and nakshatra. If the advice also names a date, a number of ahutis or a number of priests, mention it in the notes at checkout, or call our Devotee Relationship Team on +91 96295 55442 before you book.
Book the Baneshi Homam online on this page, from India or from any other country; devotees living abroad book it the same way, and prices are shown in your currency. Choose one, three or five priests, and straight after payment add your name, gotra if you know it and your birth star, with your prayer for the homam in the “Your sankalpa” box. Your muhurta is confirmed by email within 24–48 working hours and the live telecast link arrives the day before, so you can watch the entire homam live, wherever you are. Afterwards, prasadam and your energised Baneshi Yantra are couriered to you anywhere in the world, free of shipping cost.
Every Baneshi Homam package includes the energised Baneshi Yantra: a copper plate of about 1–2 inches, consecrated over three days and present in the fire through your homam. It is then rolled and sealed inside a silver amulet of about 2–4 inches, made to be worn, and couriered to you with your prasadam, free of shipping cost, usually reaching you in 1–2 weeks within India and 2–4 weeks internationally from the homam’s completion; the tracking email gives your personal time to wear it. If you add the optional 48-Day Anushthan, the yantra is also worshipped daily in our consecrated sanctum for 48 days before it is sealed.
Our silver amulets are specially made for everyday wear: copper is added to the silver to make them more durable. With regular use, the amulet may turn black, reddish or brown as it is exposed to heat and reacts with the chemicals in cosmetics. Wipe it regularly with a soft, dry cotton cloth, keep perfume and cosmetics away from it, and clean it by rubbing it gently with a pinch of vibhuti (sacred ash). Every six months, polish it with cotton dipped in a silver cleaner, but never soak or dip the amulet itself. Never open it, as the energies of the yantra are sealed inside. If it is ever damaged, send it back to us, not to a jeweller.

Your ritual date is an auspicious muhurta calculated personally for you — not a slot on a rota. Once it is confirmed, rescheduling from the customer's side is not available, and cancellation does not carry a refund. If we ever have to move your ritual for unforeseen reasons at the ashram, we will inform you immediately and provide a fresh auspicious date at no cost — and your telecast, recording, prasadam and yantra remain exactly as promised.

Read the full refund and cancellation policy.
