The Ritual and Its Weight

The Mahalakshmi Homa is a fire offering made to Mahalakshmi, the presiding power of abundance in all eight of her forms. Ghee, lotus, grains and fragrant substances are given to Agni while her names are recited, so that what is offered in the fire becomes an invitation. In the older households of the tradition, this homa was kindled when a trade was begun, a shop was opened, a partnership was signed, or a family sensed that effort was going out but little was coming back.

For a business, the concern is rarely one thing. It is the deal that keeps stalling, the client who does not return, the season that stays quiet, the venture that has everything but momentum. The Mahalakshmi Homa is prescribed as a way of turning towards the Goddess with all of that placed openly before the fire. Priests at our Yagna Ashram perform the rite in your name and your gotra, and you watch it live from wherever you are — the sankalpa carries you into the fire, even though you are not standing beside it.

ॐ श्रीं ह्रीं श्रीं कमले कमलालये प्रसीद प्रसीद श्रीं ह्रीं श्रीं ॐ महालक्ष्म्यै नमः O Kamala, seated upon the lotus, be gracious, be gracious — salutations to Mahalakshmi.

Sacred timing

The most auspicious days for a Mahalakshmi Homa

Certain days carry Mahalakshmi's presence more openly. Our panchanga desk will suggest a date suited to your intent, or you may choose one of these.

Friday

Mahalakshmi's own weekday, and the most frequently chosen day for the Mahalakshmi Homa and for Mahalakshmi puja at home.

Varalakshmi Vratam & Deepavali

The great Lakshmi occasions of the year, when businesses traditionally open new account books and seek her grace for the season ahead.

Akshaya Tritiya

Held as an unfailing muhurat for beginnings — favoured for launches, first transactions and new ventures.

Rohini, Shravana or Purva Phalguni nakshatra

Nakshatras associated with fullness and increase, often selected for wealth-related homas along with Shukla Paksha tithis.

You do not need to wait for one of these days. Whenever you book, our astrologers calculate the muhurta from your own birth chart — a date chosen for you personally, which tradition regards as more precise than a calendar date chosen for everyone. If you would like the homa on one of the days above, tell us at checkout and we will fix the muhurta within it.

What you receive

The sealing of the Mahalakshmi Yantra

When your homa concludes, the yantra that stood in the fire is rolled and locked inside its silver amulet according to Agama vidhi — the practice by which the energies raised in a ritual are held within a consecrated object rather than dispersing. It is why a homa performed at our ashram can still reach a devotee ten thousand miles away: what the fire raised travels to you, sealed.

Personal sankalpa

Your name, gotra & nakshatra — for you and up to five family members.

Live telecast

Watch your own homa in real time from the ashram. Streamed openly on our YouTube channel by default — or request a private, unlisted telecast at checkout.

Free energised Mahalakshmi Yantra, sealed in a silver amulet

Consecrated over three days — Jala (holy-water consecration with mantras), Prana (life force through pranayama & chants) and Jeeva Pratishta (awakened with 108 recitations & offerings) — then present through your homa, receiving the energies raised in the fire. Immediately afterwards it is rolled and sealed inside a silver amulet by Agamic rite, locking those energies within, and shipped to you with your prasadam.

Prasadam, shipped free

Sacred vibhuti, sandalwood powder & kumkum from your fire — delivered to any country.

48-Day Anushthan (optional)

Daily temple worship for 48 days — the 27 Nakshatras + 12 Rashis + 9 Planets — then sealed in a silver amulet of approximately 2–4 inches.

A note on sacred tradition

As per strict Agama vidhi, no videography is permitted inside the temple sanctum — this preserves the pure sacred energies and undisturbed divine focus of the ritual. The main homa is respectfully telecast live from outside the sanctum.

Homas are telecast openly on our YouTube channel so that devotees everywhere may witness the rituals — and because we believe you should be able to see our work before you trust us with yours. Your sankalpa names you and your family, so if you would rather your ceremony were not public, choose the private telecast option at checkout and it is streamed as an unlisted link visible only to you.

We state this plainly — transparency about what tradition forbids filming, and about what is public, is part of performing these rituals honestly.

After it arrives

How to wear your energised Mahalakshmi Yantra

The energised yantra is carefully rolled and sealed inside a sacred silver amulet before shipping. Wearing it is itself a small ritual — and even its timing is set for you personally.

Our astrologer marks the auspicious date and time to wear the yantra according to your birth details — sent to you in the email carrying your shipment's tracking number.

Dip the silver amulet in raw milk or Ganga jal for an hour before wearing, then clean with normal water.

03

Show lamp and incense to the amulet before wearing it.

Who is invoked

Mahalakshmi

Mahalakshmi is the great, eight-fold sovereign of prosperity in whom the separate gifts of the Ashta-Lakshmis—grain, courage, offspring, victory, knowledge, strength, kingship and ordinary wealth—are gathered into a single unbroken presence. She is not merely the consort of Vishnu but the very shakti that makes his preserving work possible; without her the world would remain inert. She rises from the ocean of milk seated on a full-blown lotus, holding lotuses in two hands while the other two offer the gestures of freedom from fear and of boon-giving. Her complexion is described as that of fresh gold or the interior of a lotus. In the Sri-sukta of the Rig Veda she is already hymned as the moist, radiant one who carries fame and nourishment; the later Puranas expand her into the cosmic mother whose glance confers the eighteen kinds of wealth enumerated in the Lakshmi Tantra. No other form of the goddess is addressed as the totality of all prosperous conditions at once.

In this homa that grace is invoked through fire, with your own name and birth details spoken in the sankalpa.

Questions

Frequently asked

The Mahalakshmi Homa is a Vedic fire ritual dedicated to Mahalakshmi, the Goddess of abundance in her eight forms. Ghee, lotus, grains and fragrant offerings are given to Agni while her mantras and names are chanted. Its significance in the business tradition is simple: before you ask a venture to grow, you ask the presiding power of prosperity to be present in it. It is kindled at openings, expansions, and at moments when a business needs its flow restored.
The mahalakshmi homam benefits described in the tradition are growth in trade, new opportunities and enquiries, success in ventures and partnerships, movement in stalled deals, steadier cash flow, and clarity in how wealth is used. Tamil households often speak of the same intents — you will find mahalakshmi homam benefits in Tamil expressed as செல்வம், வளர்ச்சி and சுபிட்சம். The rite is an offering and a prayer; it is not a guarantee of any specific result.
Business owners, traders, partners in a firm, professionals building a practice, and anyone starting or expanding a venture. Families also book it for general prosperity in the household. Qualified priests perform the ritual for you at AstroBhava's Yagna Ashram — you do not need to be present, and you do not need prior ritual training. Your name, nakshatra and gotra are taken in the sankalpa so the homa is offered specifically on your behalf.
Fridays are the classical choice, being Mahalakshmi's weekday. Varalakshmi Vratam, Deepavali and Akshaya Tritiya are especially favoured, as are Shukla Paksha tithis and nakshatras such as Rohini, Shravana and Purva Phalguni. The homa is usually performed in the morning hours. If you are unsure, share your birth details and our panchanga desk will propose a suitable date.
The priests begin with achamana, Ganapati puja and punyahavachana, then take the sankalpa in your name, nakshatra and gotra. A kalasha is established and Mahalakshmi invoked into the yantra. Agni is kindled in the kunda, and offerings are made through recitation of the mahalakshmi homam mantra, the Ashtalakshmi stotra and the Sri Suktam — the same mahalakshmi homam mantra in Tamil recitation is followed by many devotees at home. Samagri includes cow ghee, red lotus, paddy and navadhanya, kumkum, turmeric, honey, coins, bilva and specified samidha. The rite closes with purnahuti, deeparadhana and prasadam distribution.
Choose the package on this page and complete the booking online from any country — mahalakshmi homam cost is shown for your region once you select. Send the names, nakshatras and gotra to be included in the sankalpa. You will receive the confirmed date and a private link to watch the homa telecast live from our Yagna Ashram. Afterwards, prasadam and an energised Mahalakshmi Yantra are couriered to your address worldwide, free of charge.
