The Ritual and Its Weight

The Rathi Manmatha Homa is a fire rite addressed to Manmatha, the god of desire and attraction, and to Rathi, his consort and the very embodiment of delight. Tradition holds that where this pair is honoured, hearts turn toward one another — proposals find their footing, alliances that stalled begin to move, and the affection between husband and wife is refreshed. The homam is prescribed classically for those whose marriage is delayed without visible cause, and for couples who feel the warmth between them has gone quiet.

Fire carries what words cannot. Through the Rathi Manmatha homam, the priest offers ghee, flowers, sugarcane and sweet substances into the agni kunda while chanting the mantras of the divine couple, placing your sankalpa — your name, star and intention — into every offering. It is a gentle rite rather than a fierce one. Its work is on the subtle field of attraction and affection, softening resistance, drawing the right meeting forward and asking the deities to bless the union you seek.

ॐ क्लीं कामदेवाय रत्यै नमः Salutations to Kamadeva, lord of love, and to Rathi his consort — may attraction and affection be awakened and blessed.

Why Devotees Book This

Devotees turn to the Rathi Manmatha Homa when marriage matters weigh on the heart. These are the intentions the tradition assigns to the rite.

For a life partner

Offered by those seeking marriage, to invoke the grace that brings a suitable partner into view.

When alliances keep stalling

Prescribed where proposals come close and then fall away, asking that the obstruction in the path be eased.

For marital harmony

Sought by couples who wish to restore warmth, patience and easy conversation between them.

For attraction and charm

Manmatha is invoked traditionally for personal magnetism — the quality that makes one welcome in others' eyes.

When timing feels frozen

Taken up when the horoscope shows delay in the seventh house or in Venus, to seek relief through worship rather than worry.

Before an engagement or wedding

Performed ahead of a fixed alliance, so the union begins under the blessing of the divine couple of love.

Sacred timing

The most auspicious days for a Rathi Manmatha Homa

The Rathi Manmatha homam is best set on days that carry the signature of Venus, beauty and union.

Friday

The day of Shukra, lord of love and marriage — the most sought-after day for this homam.

Shukla Paksha Panchami and Trayodashi

Waxing-moon tithis associated with Kama and Rathi, favoured for rites of attraction and alliance.

Purva Phalguni, Rohini and Uttara Phalguni nakshatras

Stars traditionally linked with love, conjugal life and the fixing of marriage.

Vasanta Panchami and the spring months

Chaitra and Vaishakha, the season of Manmatha, when the rite is classically offered.

You do not need to wait for one of these days. Whenever you book, our astrologers calculate the muhurta from your own birth chart — a date chosen for you personally, which tradition regards as more precise than a calendar date chosen for everyone. If you would like the homa on one of the days above, tell us at checkout and we will fix the muhurta within it.

What you receive

The sealing of the Rathi-Manmatha Yantra

When your homa concludes, the yantra that stood in the fire is rolled and locked inside its silver amulet according to Agama vidhi — the practice by which the energies raised in a ritual are held within a consecrated object rather than dispersing. It is why a homa performed at our ashram can still reach a devotee ten thousand miles away: what the fire raised travels to you, sealed.

Personal sankalpa

Your name, gotra & nakshatra — for you and up to five family members.

Live telecast

Watch your own homa in real time from the ashram. Streamed openly on our YouTube channel by default — or request an unlisted telecast at checkout.

Free energised Rathi-Manmatha Yantra, sealed in a silver amulet

Consecrated over three days — Jala (holy-water consecration with mantras), Prana (life force through pranayama & chants) and Jeeva Pratishta (awakened with 108 recitations & offerings) — then present through your homa, receiving the energies raised in the fire. Immediately afterwards it is rolled and sealed inside a silver amulet by Agamic rite, locking those energies within, and shipped to you with your prasadam.

Prasadam, shipped free

Sacred vibhuti, sandalwood powder & kumkum from your fire — delivered to any country.

Yantra Pujas inside our consecrated sanctum

48-Day Anushthan (optional) — daily pujas for 48 days — the 27 Nakshatras + 12 Rashis + 9 Planets — then sealed in a silver amulet of approximately 2–4 inches. Performed in our consecrated sanctum at the Yagna Ashram.

A note on sacred tradition

As per strict Agama vidhi, no videography is permitted inside the temple sanctum — this preserves the pure sacred energies and undisturbed divine focus of the ritual. The main homa is respectfully telecast live from outside the sanctum.

Homas are telecast openly on our YouTube channel so that devotees everywhere may witness the rituals — and because we believe you should be able to see our work before you trust us with yours. Your sankalpa names you and your family, so if you would rather your ceremony were not public, choose the private telecast option at checkout and it is streamed as an unlisted link, which does not appear on our channel or in search, though anyone who has the link can watch it and share it.

We state this plainly — transparency about what tradition forbids filming, and about what is public, is part of performing these rituals honestly.

After it arrives

How to wear your energised Rathi-Manmatha Yantra

The energised yantra is carefully rolled and sealed inside a sacred silver amulet before shipping. Wearing it is itself a small ritual.

01

Your auspicious time to wear it

Wear it for the first time on a Friday, between 6.30 and 7.30 in the morning. Bathe first, place the yantra on your pooja altar and offer your prayers, then wear it around your neck or your waist, on a red or black thread or a silver chain.

02

At a funeral

Take the yantra off before you attend a funeral.

03

Purify the amulet

Whenever the yantra has been taken off, or if it was worn at a funeral, dip it in raw milk or Ganga jal, show it incense, dhoop or attar (perfume), and then wear it again.

04

Keep the energy intact

You may repeat this energising once a week or once a month.

Who is invoked

Rathi and Manmatha

Manmatha, also called Kamadeva, is the deva of desire and attraction, a youthful figure of great beauty who rides a parrot and carries a bow of sugarcane strung with honeybees, its five flower arrows tipped with lotus, jasmine, mango bloom and their kin. Beside him stands Rathi, daughter of Daksha in the Puranas, herself the embodiment of delight and longing, who wins his return in subtle form after Shiva's third eye reduces him to ash. Together they are honoured as the pair who make hearts incline toward one another. Devotees hold them to govern mutual attraction, the sweetness between husband and wife, and the readiness of two families to meet. Their worship is gentle, offered with flowers, sugarcane and sweet substances.

In this homa that grace is invoked through fire, with your own name and birth details spoken in the sankalpa.

Questions

Frequently asked

The Rathi Manmatha Homa is a Vedic fire ritual offered to Manmatha, the deity of love and desire, together with his consort Rathi. Mantras of the divine couple are chanted while ghee, flowers and sweet offerings are given to the fire. Its significance in the Love & Marriage tradition lies in the sphere it addresses — attraction, alliance and affection. It is taken up for marriage prospects, for delays that have no clear cause, and for the softening of distance between husband and wife.
Tradition prescribes the rathi manmatha homam for those seeking a suitable life partner, for alliances that repeatedly stall, for renewing warmth and understanding in a marriage, and for the grace of natural charm and likeability. It is also offered before an engagement or wedding so that the union begins under the blessing of Rathi and Manmatha. The homa is an act of worship and surrender; outcomes rest with the deity and with your own effort in the world.
Unmarried men and women seeking marriage, families whose son's or daughter's alliance keeps getting postponed, engaged couples preparing for the wedding, and married couples who wish for greater harmony between them. Those whose horoscope shows affliction or delay connected to the seventh house or to Venus are often advised this homam. You may also sponsor it on behalf of a son, daughter or sibling — their name and nakshatra go into the sankalpa.
Fridays are most favoured, as Shukra governs love and marriage. Shukla Paksha Panchami and Trayodashi, the nakshatras Purva Phalguni, Uttara Phalguni and Rohini, and the spring season of Chaitra and Vaishakha are all classically recommended. Vasanta Panchami is especially auspicious. When you book, our priests examine your birth details and fix a muhurat suited to you, then confirm the date and time before the homa.
The priest begins with achamana, Ganapati puja and punyahavachanam, then takes the sankalpa in your name, gotra and nakshatra. Kalasha sthapana and the invocation of Rathi and Manmatha follow. The agni kunda is kindled and the mantras of the divine couple are chanted with each offering. Samagri includes cow ghee, navadhanya, sugarcane, honey, jaggery, fragrant flowers — jasmine, lotus and red blossoms in particular — sandal, betel and seasonal fruit. The rite closes with purnahuti, deeparadhana and prayers for the devotee's marriage and marital life.
Book online from any country on this page. Give your name, gotra if known, birth star and your intention. Our priests fix the muhurat and confirm it with you. On the day, qualified priests perform the Rathi Manmatha Homa on your behalf at our Yagna Ashram in Pollachi, Coimbatore District and telecast it live to you wherever you are — you do not need to travel. Afterwards, prasadam and an energised Rathi-Manmatha Yantra are couriered to your address worldwide, free of shipping cost.
Our silver amulets are specially made for everyday wear: copper is added to the silver to make them more durable. With regular use, the amulet may turn black, reddish or brown as it is exposed to heat and reacts with the chemicals in cosmetics. Wipe it regularly with a soft, dry cotton cloth, keep perfume and cosmetics away from it, and clean it by rubbing it gently with a pinch of vibhuti (sacred ash). Every six months, polish it with cotton dipped in a silver cleaner, but never soak or dip the amulet itself. Never open it, as the energies of the yantra are sealed inside. If it is ever damaged, send it back to us, not to a jeweller.
For love, for marriage, for the longed-for bond
