The Ritual and Its Weight
The Sowbhagya Panchadasi Homa is built around the Panchadasakshari — the fifteen-syllable Vidya of Lalita Tripurasundari, called Sowbhagya because tradition holds it to be the mantra of auspiciousness itself. Sowbhagya, in the old sense, is not luck. It is the settled good fortune of a woman or man whose home has warmth in it: a worthy partner, an unbroken marriage, an atmosphere in which affection can grow. This is a Maha homa. The Vidya is chanted in count into a consecrated fire while ghee, lotus, honey and fragrant offerings meet the flame.

Not every fire ritual is performed at the same scale. A Maha Homa is our largest form — more priests, a longer fire, and the complete chanting sequence the rite prescribes rather than an abridged one. This is what that means in practice.
A Maha Homa is never a group ceremony, the same as any homa we conduct. What the scale changes is the weight of the offering — ten trained voices holding one hymn for two hours is a different undertaking from one voice for an hour, and it is reserved for the intentions that warrant it.

The Sowbhagya Panchadasi homam is set on days traditionally held to favour the Goddess and matters of marriage.
Shukravara belongs to the Devi and to Shukra, the graha of marriage, love and beauty. The most commonly chosen day for this homa.
The waxing fifth and ninth tithis are classical Sri Vidya days, held apt for the Panchadasakshari.
During the nine nights of the Goddess, and on full moon, the Vidya is chanted with extended counts.

When your homa concludes, it is rolled and locked inside its silver amulet according to Agama vidhi — the practice by which those energies are held within a consecrated object rather than dispersing. How to wear your energised Lalita Tripurasundari Yantra
Your auspicious time to wear it
Wear it for the first time on a Friday, between 6.30 and 7.30 in the morning. Bathe first, place the yantra on your pooja altar and offer your prayers, then wear it around your neck or your waist, on a red or black thread or a silver chain.
At a funeral
Take the yantra off before you attend a funeral.
Purify the amulet
Whenever the yantra has been taken off, or if it was worn at a funeral, dip it in raw milk or Ganga jal, show it incense, dhoop or attar (perfume), and then wear it again.
Keep the energy intact
You may repeat this energising once a week or once a month.

Sankalpa

Ganapati Puja
The customary invocation to Ganapati, clearing obstacles before the deity is approached.
Agni Pratishtha
The fire is consecrated in the homa kunda and Agni invoked as the carrier of every offering that follows.
Lalita Tripurasundari Avahana
The mula mantra of Lalita Tripurasundari is chanted, inviting the deity's presence into the fire — by five or ten priests as your scale sets.
Ahuti
Ghee and akshata, with the flowers, grains and dravyas proper to this deity, are offered in sequence with mantra. Each priest makes 216 of these offerings with the mula mantra of Lalita Tripurasundari — 1,080 or 2,160 in all, by package.
Purnahuti
The final complete offering seals the sankalpa stated at the opening.

Lalita Tripurasundari
Seated on a throne borne by the great gods, She holds sugarcane bow, five flower arrows, noose and goad in Her four hands. Her body is the colour of the rising sun, and Sri Vidya upasakas know Her as the presiding power of the Sri Chakra, the Goddess who is beauty in all three worlds and in the three states of waking, dream and sleep. The Lalita Sahasranama of the Brahmanda Purana names Her by the thousand, and the Panchadasakshari, the fifteen-syllable Vidya, is held to be Her sound-body. Devotees approach Her in matters of union and household warmth because the tradition places under Her the drawing together of two lives, marital affection, and sowbhagya, the settled auspiciousness of a home.
