Who Srishti Ganapathi is
Srishti Ganapathi is the creative aspect isolated within the thirty-two forms of the Mudgala Purana. His name is formed from sṛṣṭi, the act of orderly bringing-forth. Seated upon the mouse, four-armed, he holds a noose, an elephant goad, a ripe mango, and the tusk. The mango is not an offering received but the seed-fruit that already contains latent worlds; the tusk is the stylus that draws the first lines of differentiation across undivided potential. Unlike forms that guard thresholds or dissolve bondage, Srishti Ganapathi is the intelligence contemplated when chaos must be persuaded into coherent structure.
The Form Named for Creation
Srishti Ganapathi is one of the thirty-two meditative forms of Ganesha whose dhyana verses are collected in the Sritattvanidhi, the nineteenth-century Mysore compendium popularly credited to the Mudgala Purana. The dhyana is a description for meditation rather than a story. It shows him red in colour, riding a large mouse, and holding the noose, the goad, his own tusk and a ripe mango, and it names him skilled in sṛṣṭi, creation. No Puranic episode of his appearance is attested. The attributes are usually read in the light of the name. The noose gathers and the goad directs; the tusk suggests the first marking of form; the mango is fruit already ripened. Together they make this the form contemplated when something not yet shaped is to be given coherent structure, which is why devotees turn to him at the start of new ventures.

Source: Dhyāna śloka of this form in the Śrītattvanidhi's thirty-two Gaṇapati forms (no. 23 in the Stotranidhi list). Stotranidhi and Drik Panchang agree (Drik Panchang writes नश्शोणः for नः शोणः). Its first line is identical to the first line of the Vijaya Ganapati dhyāna; only the second line names Srishti.
The syllable people get wrong
The vocalic ṛ in sṛṣṭi is almost always replaced by a full vowel-plus-consonant “ri” or “ru,” yielding the familiar “srishti.” Tradition requires a single liquid r-sound functioning as the syllable’s nucleus, with no extra vowel, followed at once by the retroflex cluster ṣṭ, which itself must not collapse into the simpler English “sht.”
