The Ritual and Its Weight
The Lakshmi Kubera Homam joins two powers that the tradition never separates for long. Mahalakshmi is the wealth that arrives — grace, abundance, the flowering of effort. Kubera is the wealth that remains — the treasurer, the keeper of the nine nidhis, the one who guards what has been given. Invoking one without the other, the elders say, is like filling a vessel that has no base. This homam addresses both: the coming in, and the holding.
Fire is the courier. Every offering placed in the kunda with the Lakshmi Kubera homam mantra travels through Agni to the deities named, and the sankalpa spoken in your name and gotra travels with it. Devotees turn to this Maha homam when income is uneven, when debts have gathered weight, when a household or a business needs its ground to steady. The rite is prescribed for that steadying. Our priests perform it at the Yagna Ashram on your behalf, and you watch the flame rise wherever you are.
Salutations to the Lord of Wealth; O Kubera, yaksha king and son of Vishrava, lord of riches and grain, grant me and cause to grow abundance of wealth and sustenance.What a Maha Homam is
Not every fire ritual is performed at the same scale. A Maha Homam is our largest form — more priests, a longer fire, and the complete chanting sequence the rite prescribes rather than an abridged one. This is what that means in practice.
A Maha Homam is never a group ceremony, the same as any homam we conduct. What the scale changes is the weight of the offering — ten trained voices holding one hymn for two hours is a different undertaking from one voice for an hour, and it is reserved for the intentions that warrant it.
Benefits of the Lakshmi Kubera Homam
The lakshmi kubera homam benefits named in the tradition all circle one theme — wealth that arrives, and wealth that stays.
Steady, unbroken income
Offered when earnings come in fits and starts, and the household needs a rhythm it can rely on.
Relief from the weight of debt
The rite is prescribed for those working their way out of loans and dues, to lighten the burden as they repay.
Wealth that is retained
Kubera is invoked as treasurer, for savings that hold and outflow that does not quietly drain the vessel.
Blessing on trade and enterprise
Merchants and business owners take this homam for new ventures, stalled cash flow and the opening of fresh channels.
Grace of Mahalakshmi in the home
For a dwelling where food, cloth and welcome are never short, and prosperity is shared rather than hoarded.
Clarity in financial decisions
Sought for a settled mind around money — for choices made in steadiness rather than in fear.

The most auspicious days for a Lakshmi Kubera Homam
Any day the fire is kindled with faith serves. These windows are the ones the tradition marks for Lakshmi and Kubera, and they fill early through the lakshmi kubera puja 2025 season.
Friday is Mahalakshmi's own day, and the full moon adds fullness to the sankalpa. The most commonly chosen slot.
The two great wealth days of the year. Akshaya Tritiya is for that which does not diminish; Dhanteras is Kubera's evening.
Dhanishta carries the sense of wealth and plenty; Uttara Phalguni is Lakshmi's star. Both are favoured for this homam.
Also taken at the opening of a shop, the start of a financial year, or a move into a new home or office.
You do not need to wait for one of these days. Whenever you book, our astrologers calculate the muhurta from your own birth chart — a date chosen for you personally, which tradition regards as more precise than a calendar date chosen for everyone. If you would like the homam on one of the days above, tell us at checkout and we will fix the muhurta within it.
What you receive
The sealing of the Lakshmi Kubera Yantra
The Lakshmi Kubera Yantra is consecrated over three days — Jala (holy-water consecration with mantras), Prana (life force through pranayama & chants) and Jeeva Pratishta (awakened with 108 recitations & offerings) — then present through your homam, receiving the energies raised in the fire. When your homam concludes, it is rolled and locked inside its silver amulet according to Agama vidhi — the practice by which those energies are held within a consecrated object rather than dispersing. It is why a homam performed at our ashram can still reach a devotee ten thousand miles away: what the fire raised travels to you, sealed.
This is what arrives at your door, at no extra cost, with your prasadam.
Personal sankalpa
Your name, gotra & nakshatra — and up to four family members if you wish. No one else is named.

How to wear your energised Lakshmi Kubera Yantra
Your auspicious time to wear it
Wear it for the first time on a Friday, between 6.30 and 7.30 in the morning. Bathe first, place the yantra on your pooja altar and offer your prayers, then wear it around your neck or your waist, on a red or black thread or a silver chain.
At a funeral
Take the yantra off before you attend a funeral.
Purify the amulet
Whenever the yantra has been taken off, or if it was worn at a funeral, dip it in raw milk or Ganga jal, show it incense, dhoop or attar (perfume), and then wear it again.
Keep the energy intact
You may repeat this energising once a week or once a month.
How your Lakshmi Kubera Homam is performed
Sankalpa
The priest states your name, gotra and nakshatra — and those of up to four family members — with the intention this homam is performed for.
Ganapati Puja
The customary invocation to Ganapati, clearing obstacles before the deity is approached.
Agni Pratishtha
The fire is consecrated in the homa kunda and Agni invoked as the carrier of every offering that follows.
Lakshmi Kubera Avahana
The mula mantras of Mahalakshmi and Kubera are chanted, inviting the deity's presence into the fire — by five or ten priests as your scale sets.
Ahuti
Ghee and akshata, with the flowers, grains and dravyas proper to this deity, are offered in sequence with mantra. Each priest makes 216 of these offerings with the mula mantras of Mahalakshmi and Kubera — 1,080 or 2,160 in all, by package.
Purnahuti
The final complete offering seals the sankalpa stated at the opening.
Aarti & Dispatch
Aarti is performed live on your telecast. Vibhuti, sandalwood powder, kumkum and your energised Lakshmi Kubera Yantra are then packed and shipped free to your door.
Lakshmi Kubera
The Lakshmi Kubera mantra, as North Indian puja manuals print it, is not a single formula but a small family of four, given here in sequence. Mantra 1 is a seed-syllable mantra of no known author that sets Kubera beside Ashtalakshmi, the eight forms of Lakshmi, and asks them to fill the house with wealth. Mantra 2 is the Kubera mantra of 35 syllables, counted without its opening Om, recorded in Mahidhara's Mantramahodadhi, a Sanskrit digest of mantras completed in Varanasi in 1589; that text names Vishravas as its rishi and Brihati as its metre. Mantra 3 is the Kubera Gayatri, cast in the three steps of the Vedic Gayatri: we know him, we meditate on him, may he inspire us. Mantra 4 is the oldest, a Vedic verse from the Taittiriya Aranyaka of the Krishna Yajurveda (1.31.6), recited as the close of the Mantrapushpam when flowers are offered at the end of a puja.
In this homam that grace is invoked through fire, with your own name and birth details spoken in the sankalpa.
