The Ritual and Its Weight
The Mangala Gauri Homa is a fire offering to Gauri in her most gracious form — the giver of saubhagya, the well-being of married life. Married women have kept her Tuesday vrata for centuries in the month of Shravana. Unmarried seekers have sat before the same fire asking for a partner of good character. The homa condenses that long devotion into a single sustained offering: ghee, red flowers, turmeric, kumkum and the Gauri mantras poured into a consecrated flame while your name, star and gotra are spoken into it.
In the marriage chart, the seventh house, Venus, and for a woman Jupiter, carry the story of union. When these are pressed by Mars, Saturn or Rahu, the tradition speaks of vivaha vilamba — a marriage that keeps receding. The Mangala Gauri pooja is the classical response. It does not force a hand. It softens the ground, steadies the mind of the seeker, and asks the Mother who chose her own husband through tapas to look upon your search with the same patience.
ॐ मङ्गले मङ्गलाधारे माङ्गल्ये मङ्गलप्रदे। मङ्गलार्थं मङ्गलेशि माङ्गल्यं देहि मे सदा॥ O Auspicious One, ground and giver of all auspiciousness, Mistress of the auspicious — grant me always the blessing of an auspicious married life. Why Devotees Book This
Devotees come to the mangala gauri homa at particular turnings in life. These are the reasons they name most often.
For a suitable life partner
Offered by those searching for marriage, asking Gauri for a match of good character, compatible family and steady temperament.
When marriage keeps getting delayed
Prescribed in the tradition where the seventh house, Venus or Jupiter are afflicted and proposals repeatedly stall or fall through.
For harmony between husband and wife
Married couples offer it to soften friction, restore warmth, and bring patience back into daily life together.
For the longevity and welfare of the spouse
The classical intent of the Mangala Gauri vrata — a wife's prayer for her husband's well-being, and a husband's for his wife's.
When alliances break at the last stage
Sought when engagements repeatedly come undone, as a prayer for stability in the negotiations that follow.
Before a wedding is fixed
Families book the mangala gowri homam ahead of an alliance, seeking Gauri's grace over the union from its first day.

The most auspicious days for a Mangala Gauri Homa
Gauri's fire is lit on days the tradition holds sweet for her.
The classical Mangala Gauri days. Each Tuesday of the Shravana month is held supreme for this rite, and the first is especially sought.
Friday belongs to Venus, karaka of marriage. Tritiya of the bright fortnight is Gauri's own tithi, and both are widely chosen.
Rohini, Uttara Phalguni, Hasta and Swati are favoured for marriage-related rites and are often selected for the homa.
During Navaratri, and on Gauri Tritiya in Chaitra, the Mother's presence in the fire is considered particularly near.
You do not need to wait for one of these days. Whenever you book, our astrologers calculate the muhurta from your own birth chart — a date chosen for you personally, which tradition regards as more precise than a calendar date chosen for everyone. If you would like the homa on one of the days above, tell us at checkout and we will fix the muhurta within it.
What you receive
The sealing of the Mangala Gauri Yantra
When your homa concludes, the yantra that stood in the fire is rolled and locked inside its silver amulet according to Agama vidhi — the practice by which the energies raised in a ritual are held within a consecrated object rather than dispersing. It is why a homa performed at our ashram can still reach a devotee ten thousand miles away: what the fire raised travels to you, sealed.
Personal sankalpa
Your name, gotra & nakshatra — for you and up to five family members.
Live telecast
Watch your own homa in real time from the ashram. Streamed openly on our YouTube channel by default — or request an unlisted telecast at checkout.
Free energised Mangala Gauri Yantra, sealed in a silver amulet
Consecrated over three days — Jala (holy-water consecration with mantras), Prana (life force through pranayama & chants) and Jeeva Pratishta (awakened with 108 recitations & offerings) — then present through your homa, receiving the energies raised in the fire. Immediately afterwards it is rolled and sealed inside a silver amulet by Agamic rite, locking those energies within, and shipped to you with your prasadam.
Prasadam, shipped free
Sacred vibhuti, sandalwood powder & kumkum from your fire — delivered to any country.
Yantra Pujas inside our consecrated sanctum
48-Day Anushthan (optional) — daily pujas for 48 days — the 27 Nakshatras + 12 Rashis + 9 Planets — then sealed in a silver amulet of approximately 2–4 inches. Performed in our consecrated sanctum at the Yagna Ashram.
A note on sacred tradition
As per strict Agama vidhi, no videography is permitted inside the temple sanctum — this preserves the pure sacred energies and undisturbed divine focus of the ritual. The main homa is respectfully telecast live from outside the sanctum.
Homas are telecast openly on our YouTube channel so that devotees everywhere may witness the rituals — and because we believe you should be able to see our work before you trust us with yours. Your sankalpa names you and your family, so if you would rather your ceremony were not public, choose the private telecast option at checkout and it is streamed as an unlisted link, which does not appear on our channel or in search, though anyone who has the link can watch it and share it.
We state this plainly — transparency about what tradition forbids filming, and about what is public, is part of performing these rituals honestly.
How to wear your energised Mangala Gauri Yantra
The energised yantra is carefully rolled and sealed inside a sacred silver amulet before shipping. Wearing it is itself a small ritual.
Your auspicious time to wear it
Wear it for the first time on the day named in your dispatch email, between 6.30 and 7.30 in the morning. Bathe first, place the yantra on your pooja altar and offer your prayers, then wear it around your neck or your waist, on a red or black thread or a silver chain.
At a funeral
Take the yantra off before you attend a funeral.
Purify the amulet
Whenever the yantra has been taken off, or if it was worn at a funeral, dip it in raw milk or Ganga jal, show it incense, dhoop or attar (perfume), and then wear it again.
Keep the energy intact
You may repeat this energising once a week or once a month.
How your Mangala Gauri Homa is performed

Mangala Gauri
Mangala Gauri is the auspicious face of Parvati honoured in the household rites of married women across Maharashtra, northern Karnataka and adjoining Deccan regions. Her name joins mangala, the quality of well-being and good fortune, with Gauri, the radiant consort of Shiva. She is approached not as a warrior but as the steady presence that guards the saubhagya of a living husband and the quiet order of the home. Regional mahatmyas and the later layers of the Skanda Purana describe her seated images, often two-armed or four-armed, holding lotus and gesture of blessing, her complexion fair. Tuesday of the bright fortnight in the month of Shravana is her special season, when women gather to retell her vrat-katha and offer turmeric and vermilion. She is thereby distinguished from fierce or unmarried forms of the Goddess by this exclusive concern with the married state already entered.
In this homa that grace is invoked through fire, with your own name and birth details spoken in the sankalpa.
