The Ritual and Its Weight
The Narayana Sukta comes to us from the Taittiriya Aranyaka, chanted for millennia as the hymn that names the Supreme as everywhere at once — a thousand heads, eyes in all directions, the universe itself. When these verses are offered into consecrated fire, each line is sealed with ghee and svaha. The Narayana Sukta Homa is not a petition for one small thing. It is a turning of the whole life towards Narayana.
Because it is offered at the Maha tier, the recitation is unhurried and complete, with the full sequence of avahana, arghya, ahuti and purnahuti. Devotees come to this homa when the outer life is arranged but the inner one feels dry — when sadhana has stalled, when the mind will not settle, when they want their household placed under the protection of the Lord who is called Antaryami, the indweller. Tradition prescribes it for bhakti, for viveka, and for the quiet grace that follows both.
ॐ सहस्रशीर्षं देवं विश्वाक्षं विश्वशम्भुवम् । विश्वं नारायणं देवमक्षरं परमं प्रभुम् ॥ We invoke the Lord of a thousand heads, whose eyes are everywhere and who is the well-being of all — Narayana, who is the whole universe, imperishable, the supreme sovereign. What a Maha Homa is
Not every fire ritual is performed at the same scale. A Maha Homa is our largest form — more priests, a longer fire, and the complete chanting sequence the rite prescribes rather than an abridged one. This is what that means in practice.
A Maha Homa is never a group ceremony, the same as any homa we conduct. What the scale changes is the weight of the offering — ten trained voices holding one hymn for two hours is a different undertaking from one voice for an hour, and it is reserved for the intentions that warrant it.
Why Devotees Book This
What the tradition prescribes the Narayana Sukta Homam for — offered by priests on your behalf, watched live by you.
Devotion that steadies
The Sukta is chanted to ripen bhakti from a mood into a habit — a mind that returns to the Lord on its own.
Inner quiet
Devotees offer this homa when thought is noisy and prayer feels mechanical, seeking stillness before the fire.
Sadhana that moves again
Traditionally offered to clear obstructions in japa, study and meditation, and to renew a practice that has gone flat.
Grace for the household
The verses place home and family under the sheltering presence of Narayana, the indweller of all beings.
Purification of intent
Ghee offerings on each line of the Sukta are held to burn away accumulated heaviness of speech, thought and deed.
A remembrance you keep
Prasadam and an energised Narayana Yantra reach you after the rite, so the sankalpa continues in your puja space.

The most auspicious days for a Narayana Sukta Homa
Vaishnava practice sets aside particular days for the Narayana Sukta Homa.
The two days most sacred to Vishnu. Sukta recitation into fire on Ekadashi is a long-held preference, and Dwadashi carries the fruit forward.
The birth star associated with Vishnu, considered especially fitting for Narayana Sukta homam and for renewing bhakti sankalpas.
Guruvara suits rites of devotion and wisdom. Vaikuntha Ekadashi is the year's most sought-after date for this homa.
The Vishnu month is auspicious throughout; many devotees also choose their own birth star for an annual offering.
You do not need to wait for one of these days. Whenever you book, our astrologers calculate the muhurta from your own birth chart — a date chosen for you personally, which tradition regards as more precise than a calendar date chosen for everyone. If you would like the homa on one of the days above, tell us at checkout and we will fix the muhurta within it.
What you receive
The sealing of the Narayana Yantra
The Narayana Yantra is consecrated over three days — Jala (holy-water consecration with mantras), Prana (life force through pranayama & chants) and Jeeva Pratishta (awakened with 108 recitations & offerings) — then present through your homa, receiving the energies raised in the fire. When your homa concludes, it is rolled and locked inside its silver amulet according to Agama vidhi — the practice by which those energies are held within a consecrated object rather than dispersing. It is why a homa performed at our ashram can still reach a devotee ten thousand miles away: what the fire raised travels to you, sealed.
This is what arrives at your door, at no extra cost, with your prasadam.

How to wear your energised Narayana Yantra
Your auspicious time to wear it
Wear it for the first time on a Thursday, between 6.30 and 7.30 in the morning. Bathe first, place the yantra on your pooja altar and offer your prayers, then wear it around your neck or your waist, on a red or black thread or a silver chain.
At a funeral
Take the yantra off before you attend a funeral.
Purify the amulet
Whenever the yantra has been taken off, or if it was worn at a funeral, dip it in raw milk or Ganga jal, show it incense, dhoop or attar (perfume), and then wear it again.
Keep the energy intact
You may repeat this energising once a week or once a month.
How your Narayana Sukta Homa is performed
Sankalpa
The priest states your name, gotra and nakshatra — and those of up to four family members — with the intention this homa is performed for.
Ganapati Puja
The customary invocation to Ganapati, clearing obstacles before the deity is approached.
Agni Pratishtha
The fire is consecrated in the homa kunda and Agni invoked as the carrier of every offering that follows.
Narayana Avahana
The Narayana Sukta is chanted, inviting the deity's presence into the fire — by five or ten priests as your scale sets.
Ahuti
Ghee and akshata, with the flowers, grains and dravyas proper to this deity, are offered in sequence with mantra.
Purnahuti
The final complete offering seals the sankalpa stated at the opening.
Aarti & Dispatch
Aarti is performed live on your telecast. Vibhuti, sandalwood powder, kumkum and your energised Narayana Yantra are then packed and shipped free to your door.
Narayana
The Supreme named in the Taittiriya Aranyaka as thousand-headed, with eyes turned in every direction, the imperishable one who is the universe itself. Vaishnava tradition knows him as Vishnu resting on the causal waters, dark as a rain cloud, four-armed, bearing conch, discus, mace and lotus, with Lakshmi at his side. His name is read as the one whose abode is the waters, and equally as the one who dwells within all beings. That second reading gives him the title Antaryami, the indweller who sits in the cave of the heart and witnesses without acting. Devotees turn to this form when they want no particular thing, only nearness: when bhakti has thinned, when discernment is wanted, when the household is placed in the keeping of the Lord who is already inside it.
In this homa that grace is invoked through fire, with your own name and birth details spoken in the sankalpa.
