The Ritual and Its Weight
Purva Ashadha is the twentieth nakshatra, the star of the invincible early victory. Its symbol is a winnowing fan and an elephant's tusk; its presiding power is Apah, the cosmic waters, and its planetary lord is Shukra. The Purva Ashadha Nakshatra Homa is a fire offering made in your name to that star and its deity, timed and structured according to the nakshatra tradition, so that the current your birth star carries runs clean.
Vedic teaching holds that the nakshatra your Moon occupied at birth keeps shaping the texture of your days — your drive, your patience, your setbacks. When that star is stressed by transit or dasha, the tradition prescribes ahuti in the fire rather than worry. The purva ashadha nakshatra homam gathers the star's mantras, its ruling deity and its offerings into one sitting of Agni, made on your behalf at our Yagna Ashram while you watch the flame live.
ॐ आपो हि ष्ठा मयोभुवस्ता न ऊर्जे दधातन । महे रणाय चक्षसे ॥ (oṃ āpo hi ṣṭhā mayobhuvas tā na ūrje dadhātana | mahe raṇāya cakṣase ||) — Tamil: ஓம் ஆபோ ஹி ஷ்டா மயோபுவஸ் தா ந ஊர்ஜே ததாதந மஹே ரணாய சக்ஷஸே O Waters, you who are the wellspring of well-being, sustain us with strength and let us behold that great joy.Why Devotees Book This
The tradition prescribes this homa for those whose life is governed by Purva Ashadha. Here is what it is offered for.
Alignment with your birth star
The homa is offered in your name and gotra, addressing Purva Ashadha directly, so your janma nakshatra is honoured rather than left unattended.
Protection through rough transits
Prescribed when Shukra dasha, Shukra bhukti or a difficult transit touches your Moon's star, as a traditional recourse during unsettled stretches.
Steadiness for prosperity
Purva Ashadha is the star of early victory. The rite is offered for effort that holds its course and for prosperity that arrives without hurry.
Cooling of restlessness
Apah is the deity of waters. Devotees offer this homa seeking calm of mind, patience, and relief from the impatience the star can carry.
Clarity in decisions
The winnowing fan separates grain from chaff. The homa is traditionally offered when you must sift good counsel from noise.
Blessing for children of this star
Parents book the homa for a child born under Purva Ashadha, as a nakshatra-shanti at birth-star birthdays and before new beginnings.

The most auspicious days for a Purva Ashadha Nakshatra Homa
Any day serves a sincere devotee, but the tradition names certain windows for this homa.
The star's own day, returning once each lunar month, is the first choice for this homa.
The Purva Ashadha day in the month of your birth — the traditional janma-nakshatra observance, taken up year after year.
Shukra rules Purva Ashadha, so Fridays and the Venus hora are favoured, particularly in the bright fortnight.
At the start of Shukra mahadasha or bhukti, or when Shukra turns in transit, priests recommend the homa as a shanti observance.
You do not need to wait for one of these days. Whenever you book, our astrologers calculate the muhurta from your own birth chart — a date chosen for you personally, which tradition regards as more precise than a calendar date chosen for everyone. If you would like the homa on one of the days above, tell us at checkout and we will fix the muhurta within it.
What you receive
The sealing of the Purva Ashadha Nakshatra Yantra
When your homa concludes, the yantra that stood in the fire is rolled and locked inside its silver amulet according to Agama vidhi — the practice by which the energies raised in a ritual are held within a consecrated object rather than dispersing. It is why a homa performed at our ashram can still reach a devotee ten thousand miles away: what the fire raised travels to you, sealed.
Personal sankalpa
Your name, gotra & nakshatra — for you and up to five family members.
Live telecast
Watch your own homa in real time from the ashram. Streamed openly on our YouTube channel by default — or request an unlisted telecast at checkout.
Free energised Purva Ashadha Nakshatra Yantra, sealed in a silver amulet
Consecrated over three days — Jala (holy-water consecration with mantras), Prana (life force through pranayama & chants) and Jeeva Pratishta (awakened with 108 recitations & offerings) — then present through your homa, receiving the energies raised in the fire. Immediately afterwards it is rolled and sealed inside a silver amulet by Agamic rite, locking those energies within, and shipped to you with your prasadam.
Prasadam, shipped free
Sacred vibhuti, sandalwood powder & kumkum from your fire — delivered to any country.
Yantra Pujas inside our consecrated sanctum
48-Day Anushthan (optional) — daily pujas for 48 days — the 27 Nakshatras + 12 Rashis + 9 Planets — then sealed in a silver amulet of approximately 2–4 inches. Performed in our consecrated sanctum at the Yagna Ashram.
A note on sacred tradition
As per strict Agama vidhi, no videography is permitted inside the temple sanctum — this preserves the pure sacred energies and undisturbed divine focus of the ritual. The main homa is respectfully telecast live from outside the sanctum.
Homas are telecast openly on our YouTube channel so that devotees everywhere may witness the rituals — and because we believe you should be able to see our work before you trust us with yours. Your sankalpa names you and your family, so if you would rather your ceremony were not public, choose the private telecast option at checkout and it is streamed as an unlisted link, which does not appear on our channel or in search, though anyone who has the link can watch it and share it.
We state this plainly — transparency about what tradition forbids filming, and about what is public, is part of performing these rituals honestly.
How to wear your energised Purva Ashadha Nakshatra Yantra
The energised yantra is carefully rolled and sealed inside a sacred silver amulet before shipping. Wearing it is itself a small ritual.
Your auspicious time to wear it
Wear it for the first time on a Friday, between 6.30 and 7.30 in the morning. Bathe first, place the yantra on your pooja altar and offer your prayers, then wear it around your neck or your waist, on a red or black thread or a silver chain.
At a funeral
Take the yantra off before you attend a funeral.
Purify the amulet
Whenever the yantra has been taken off, or if it was worn at a funeral, dip it in raw milk or Ganga jal, show it incense, dhoop or attar (perfume), and then wear it again.
Keep the energy intact
You may repeat this energising once a week or once a month.

Aarti & Dispatch
Aarti is performed live on your telecast. Vibhuti, sandalwood powder, kumkum and your energised Purva Ashadha Nakshatra Yantra are then packed and shipped free to your door.
Apah
The presiding power of this star is Apah, the cosmic waters — the divine feminine waters praised in the Rig Veda as mothers who cleanse, nourish and carry life. They are invoked in the plural, as many streams rather than a single form: rain, river, ocean and the unseen waters above the sky. The famous verse "āpo hi ṣṭhā mayobhuvaḥ" addresses them as bringers of comfort who grant strength and vision, and it opens the Aghamarshana and Rudram sequences used in daily worship. Waters are held to purify what fire alone cannot, to soften what has hardened, and to move steadily toward their goal without haste. Devotees turn to them for cleansing, for patience, and for the quiet persistence that wears down obstacles.
In this homa that grace is invoked through fire, with your own name and birth details spoken in the sankalpa.
