The Ritual and Its Weight

Revati is the last of the twenty-seven nakshatras, the closing gate of the zodiac. Its symbol is a fish swimming in the sea, and a drum that marks the end of a journey. The tradition holds that whatever begins under Revati is carried gently to its finish. When you are born under this star, its rhythm runs through your whole chart — through your travels, your health, your dealings with animals and children, your instinct to look after people. The Revati Nakshatra Homa is the fire rite that honours that rhythm and asks Pushan, the star's guardian, to walk the road with you.

Nakshatra homas are not performed to change a star. They are performed to align you with the one you were given. A birth star has seasons; when its lord is weak by transit, when Mercury is afflicted, when a dasha turns, devotees light the fire for it. Priests at our Yagna Ashram in Pollachi, Coimbatore District kindle the agni, recite the Revati portion of the Nakshatra Suktam with your name and gotra, and offer ghee, samidha and grains through the count of oblations. You watch it live from wherever you are. The prasadam and an energised Revati Nakshatra Yantra reach your door afterwards.

Pushan, lord of nourishment and keeper of the herds, travels the path together with Revati; may they receive these offerings gladly and come to our sacrifice by easy roads.

Why Devotees Book This

Devotees whose birth star is Revati, or whose children were born under it, turn to this homa at the turns of life. Here is what the tradition prescribes it for.

Strength for your birth star

The rite is offered to steady the Revati padam in your chart, especially when Mercury, its lord, is passing through a difficult transit or dasha.

Protection on the road

Pushan is invoked in the Veda as the guardian of paths. Devotees who travel often, relocate, or send children abroad offer this homa before the journey begins.

Nourishment and household plenty

Pushan is the nourisher — of cattle, grain and family. The oblations are made seeking steady sustenance rather than sudden gain.

A clean finish to what you started

Revati closes the zodiac. The homa is traditionally offered when a long project, a course of study, a treatment or a legal matter is nearing its end.

Calm for a sensitive nature

Revati-born people are often described as tender-hearted and easily unsettled. The fire rite is sought for inner steadiness and clarity of mind.

Blessing for a Revati-born child

Parents book the homa on a child's nakshatra birthday, asking for the star's protection over the year ahead.

Step 1 How many priests will perform your homa?

Has your astrologer prescribed a different number of ahutis? Our priests can review it and arrange a customised homa. Call our Devotee Relationship Team on +91 96295 55442 — they confirm the count, the priests, the approximate duration and the total price before you book.

Step 2 Enhance with the 48-Day Anushthan? (optional)

* Your Revati Nakshatra Yantra is a copper plate approx. 1–2 inches, rolled and sealed inside a silver amulet approx. 2–4 inches. Sizes are approximate and the amulet's design varies between supplier batches — shape, metal and consecration remain the same.

Sacred timing

The most auspicious days for a Revati Nakshatra Homa

Any day serves when need is urgent, but the tradition marks certain windows as especially fit for the Revati Nakshatra Homa.

The day the Moon transits Revati

Once each lunar month the Moon returns to your star. This is the classic day for the rite, and the one our priests will suggest first.

Your nakshatra birthday

The Revati day in your birth month, counted by the Moon rather than the calendar, is offered for the year ahead — for children especially.

Panguni and Meena Sankranti

Revati falls wholly in Pisces. The solar month of Meena, and the Tamil month Panguni, are held auspicious for honouring this star.

Wednesdays and Brahma muhurta

Mercury rules Revati, so Wednesday carries the rite well. The oblations are begun in the pre-dawn hours, when the ashram is quiet and the fire takes cleanly.

You do not need to wait for one of these days. Whenever you book, our astrologers calculate the muhurta from your own birth chart — a date chosen for you personally, which tradition regards as more precise than a calendar date chosen for everyone. If you would like the homa on one of the days above, tell us at checkout and we will fix the muhurta within it.

Every package, and the 48-day option

What you receive

The sealing of the Revati Nakshatra Yantra

The Revati Nakshatra Yantra is consecrated over three days — Jala (holy-water consecration with mantras), Prana (life force through pranayama & chants) and Jeeva Pratishta (awakened with 108 recitations & offerings) — then present through your homa, receiving the energies raised in the fire. When your homa concludes, it is rolled and locked inside its silver amulet according to Agama vidhi — the practice by which those energies are held within a consecrated object rather than dispersing. It is why a homa performed at our ashram can still reach a devotee ten thousand miles away: what the fire raised travels to you, sealed.

Personal sankalpa

Your name, gotra & nakshatra — and up to four family members if you wish. No one else is named.

Hear yours read back, as the priest will say it →

Live telecast

Watch your own homa in real time from the ashram. Streamed openly on our YouTube channel by default — or request an unlisted telecast at checkout.

Yantra Pujas inside our consecrated sanctum

48-Day Anushthan (optional) — daily pujas for 48 days — the 27 Nakshatras + 12 Rashis + 9 Planets — then sealed in a silver amulet of approximately 2–4 inches. Performed in our consecrated sanctum at the Yagna Ashram.

A note on sacred tradition

As per strict Agama vidhi, no videography is permitted inside the temple sanctum — this preserves the pure sacred energies and undisturbed divine focus of the ritual. The main homa is respectfully telecast live from outside the sanctum.

Homas are telecast openly on our YouTube channel so that devotees everywhere may witness the rituals — and because we believe you should be able to see our work before you trust us with yours. Your sankalpa names you and any family members you add, so if you would rather your ceremony were not public, choose the private telecast option at checkout and it is streamed as an unlisted link, which does not appear on our channel or in search, though anyone who has the link can watch it and share it.

We state this plainly — transparency about what tradition forbids filming, and about what is public, is part of performing these rituals honestly.

After it arrives

How to wear your energised Revati Nakshatra Yantra

01

Your auspicious time to wear it

Wear it for the first time on a Wednesday, between 6.30 and 7.30 in the morning. Bathe first, place the yantra on your pooja altar and offer your prayers, then wear it around your neck or your waist, on a red or black thread or a silver chain.

02

At a funeral

Take the yantra off before you attend a funeral.

03

Purify the amulet

Whenever the yantra has been taken off, or if it was worn at a funeral, dip it in raw milk or Ganga jal, show it incense, dhoop or attar (perfume), and then wear it again.

04

Keep the energy intact

You may repeat this energising once a week or once a month.

Inside the fire ritual

How your Revati Nakshatra Homa is performed

01

Sankalpa

The priest states your name, gotra and nakshatra — and those of up to four family members — with the intention this homa is performed for.

02

Ganapati Puja

The customary invocation to Ganapati, clearing obstacles before the deity is approached.

03

Agni Pratishtha

The fire is consecrated in the homa kunda and Agni invoked as the carrier of every offering that follows.

04

Pushan Avahana

The mula mantra of Pushan is chanted, inviting the deity's presence into the fire — by one, three or five priests as your package sets.

05

Ahuti

Ghee and akshata, with the flowers, grains and dravyas proper to this deity, are offered in sequence with mantra. Each priest makes 108 of these offerings with the mula mantra of Pushan — 108, 324 or 540 in all, by package.

06

Purnahuti

The final complete offering seals the sankalpa stated at the opening.

07

Aarti & Dispatch

Aarti is performed live on your telecast. Vibhuti, sandalwood powder, kumkum and your energised Revati Nakshatra Yantra are then packed and shipped free to your door.

Who is invoked

Pushan

Pushan is the Vedic sun-god of roads and safe passage, counted among the Adityas and hymned in the Rig Veda as the herdsman who knows every path. He carries a golden goad and an awl, drives a chariot drawn by goats, and eats soft food, for the tradition says his teeth were lost in Daksha's sacrifice. His domain is nourishment: cattle and their pasture, lost things found, travellers guided, the dead led onward. As lord of Revati, the last star of the zodiac, he keeps the closing gate and sees journeys through to their end. Herders, wanderers, and those charged with the care of children and animals turn to him, and devotees invoke him when a road must be walked, a passage made, or a thing that has strayed brought home.

In this homa that grace is invoked through fire, with your own name and birth details spoken in the sankalpa.

Questions

Frequently asked

The Revati Nakshatra Homa, also called the Revati Nakshatra Homam, is a Vedic fire ritual offered to Pushan, the presiding deity of Revati nakshatra, on behalf of those born under that star. Revati is the closing gate of the zodiac, and tradition holds that whatever begins under it is carried gently to its finish. Its significance lies in alignment rather than change: the homa is not performed to alter your star but to align you with the one you were given, asking Pushan, guardian of paths, to walk the road with you. Our priests perform it at our Yagna Ashram in Pollachi, Coimbatore District, telecast live to you.
Revati is the last nakshatra of the zodiac, lying in the final portion of Meena (Pisces). Its lord is Mercury; its presiding deity is Pushan, the Vedic guardian of paths who guides travellers, protects herds and feeds the household; and its symbol is a fish swimming in the sea, sometimes shown as a drum that marks the end of a journey. Its nature is mridu, soft, and it is counted among the gentle, auspicious stars, favoured for setting out on a road. It governs completion, nourishment, journeys and safe arrival.
Devotees offer this homa to Pushan to steady the Revati star in their chart, especially when Mercury, its lord, passes through a difficult transit or dasha, and for protection on the road: those who travel often, relocate or send children abroad offer it before the journey begins. It is also sought for steady nourishment and household plenty rather than sudden gain, for a clean finish when a long project or course of study nears its end, and for steadiness for a tender, easily unsettled nature. Parents offer it as a yearly blessing on a Revati-born child's nakshatra birthday. It is offered as prayer.
Anyone born with the Moon in Revati may book this homa, and parents book it for a Revati-born child, often as a customary blessing where the birth falls in the last pada, at the gandanta junction: an act of care, not the correction of any fault. It is also taken up during a Mercury dasha or bhukti, before a long relocation or foreign travel, and as a demanding project draws to a close. You need not be present; our priests perform it on your behalf. It is a private ceremony for you and up to four family members, never combined with another booking.
The priests begin with achamana, Ganapati puja and punyahavachana, then declare the sankalpa in your name, gotra and nakshatra. The kunda is prepared and Agni invoked with agni-mukha, and Pushan, the devata of Revati, is installed and worshipped. The ahutis are offered: cow ghee, samidha of palasha and other woods, navadhanya, rice, honey, herbs and flowers, every priest making their own offerings in the one ceremony. Purnahuti, aarti and Vedic ashirvada close the rite, and you watch the whole sequence on the live telecast.
You can book the Revati Nakshatra Homa with one, three or five priests. Each package is the complete homa, with the same ritual stages and the same kinds of offerings, performed privately for you and up to four family members and never combined with another booking. What changes is the number of priests: every priest makes their own ahutis, the offerings into the fire, and all of them perform at the same time, in one ceremony. An ahuti count is a count of these offerings, not a japa count, which measures repetitions of a mantra. Each priest makes 108 ahutis: 108 in all with one priest, 324 with three and 540 with five, in approximately 1 hour. A larger package adds priests and offerings, not a second ceremony. Choose the scale that fits your intention, preference and budget; the one-priest homa is complete in itself, and no package guarantees a particular result.
Yes. Our listed Revati Nakshatra Homa packages specify standard ahuti counts and priest numbers. If your astrologer has prescribed a different count, we can arrange a customised homa following review by our priests. Please share your requirements with our Devotee Relationship Team on +91 96295 55442. The team will confirm the ahuti count, number of priests, approximate duration and total price before you book. Your customised homa remains a private ceremony dedicated to your sankalpa, never combined with other customers' bookings.
About an hour, whichever package you choose: the priests perform together and make their offerings at the same time, so three or five priests do not lengthen the ceremony. Your muhurta, the date and time, is confirmed by email within 24–48 working hours of booking, and the live telecast link arrives the day before, so you can follow every stage wherever you are.
You do not need to wait for an auspicious day. Whenever you book, our astrologers calculate the muhurta from your own birth chart — a date chosen for you personally, which tradition regards as more precise than a calendar date chosen for everyone. If you would prefer one of the days tradition favours for the Revati Nakshatra Homa — the day the Moon transits Revati, above all your nakshatra birthday, the solar month of Meena and the Tamil month of Panguni, or a Wednesday, with the oblations begun in the pre-dawn Brahma muhurta — tell us in the notes at checkout and we will fix the muhurta within it. Our Panchang shows the tithi and nakshatra for any date.
Yes. What directs a homa is its sankalpa: the solemn resolve the priest makes before the fire is kindled, stating who the homa is for and what it is offered for. The deity invoked and the ritual remain the same; the purpose is yours, as your astrologer has advised it. So if you have been advised the Revati Nakshatra Homa for a reason other than those on this page, write that purpose in your own words in the “Your sankalpa” box on the birth-details page, straight after payment, and the priest will state it in the sankalpa with your name, gotra and nakshatra. If the advice also names a date, a number of ahutis or a number of priests, mention it in the notes at checkout, or call our Devotee Relationship Team on +91 96295 55442 before you book.
Book the Revati Nakshatra Homa online on this page, from India or from any other country; devotees living abroad book it the same way, and prices are shown in your currency. Choose one, three or five priests, and straight after payment add your name, gotra if you know it and your birth star, with your prayer for the homa in the “Your sankalpa” box. Your muhurta is confirmed by email within 24–48 working hours and the live telecast link arrives the day before, so you can watch the entire homa live, wherever you are. Afterwards, prasadam and your energised Revati Nakshatra Yantra are couriered to you anywhere in the world, free of shipping cost.
Every Revati Nakshatra Homa package includes the energised Revati Nakshatra Yantra: a copper plate of about 1–2 inches, consecrated over three days and present in the fire through your homa. It is then rolled and sealed inside a silver amulet of about 2–4 inches, made to be worn, and couriered to you with your prasadam, free of shipping cost, usually reaching you in 1–2 weeks within India and 2–4 weeks internationally from the homa’s completion; the tracking email gives your personal time to wear it. If you add the optional 48-Day Anushthan, the yantra is also worshipped daily in our consecrated sanctum for 48 days before it is sealed.
Our silver amulets are specially made for everyday wear: copper is added to the silver to make them more durable. With regular use, the amulet may turn black, reddish or brown as it is exposed to heat and reacts with the chemicals in cosmetics. Wipe it regularly with a soft, dry cotton cloth, keep perfume and cosmetics away from it, and clean it by rubbing it gently with a pinch of vibhuti (sacred ash). Every six months, polish it with cotton dipped in a silver cleaner, but never soak or dip the amulet itself. Never open it, as the energies of the yantra are sealed inside. If it is ever damaged, send it back to us, not to a jeweller.

Your ritual date is an auspicious muhurta calculated personally for you — not a slot on a rota. Once it is confirmed, rescheduling from the customer's side is not available, and cancellation does not carry a refund. If we ever have to move your ritual for unforeseen reasons at the ashram, we will inform you immediately and provide a fresh auspicious date at no cost — and your telecast, recording, prasadam and yantra remain exactly as promised.

Read the full refund and cancellation policy.
