The Ritual and Its Weight
Uttara Ashadha is the twenty-first nakshatra, spread across Sagittarius and Capricorn, ruled by the Sun and presided over by the Vishvedevas — the assembly of ten universal gods. Its symbol is the elephant's tusk, and its old name is Aparajita, the unconquered. The tradition reads this star as slow-burning strength: work that begins here is meant to last, not to dazzle. The Uttara Ashadha Nakshatra Homa is the fire rite by which the lord of your birth star is fed, saluted and asked to stand behind you.
When your janma nakshatra is honoured with ghee and mantra, the Vedic view is that the star's own quality is brought forward and its harsher pressures are softened. Priests chant the Vishvedeva mantras of the Nakshatra Suktam, offer into the fire on your behalf, and seal the rite with your name and gotra. Devotees also search for the mantra in Tamil script — ஓம் விஸ்வேதேவேப்யோ நமஹ — and it is chanted in full during the homa. The Uttara Ashadha Nakshatra Homam is performed at our Yagna Ashram and telecast live to you, wherever you are.
All you universal gods, hear this call of mine — you who dwell in the mid-air and in the heavens, you whose tongue is fire and who are worthy of worship: come, be seated on this sacred grass, and take joy in this offering. Why Devotees Book This
What the tradition prescribes the Uttara Ashadha Nakshatra Homa for:
Alignment with your birth star
The rite honours the nakshatra you were born under, so its influence is invoked with respect rather than left unattended.
Protection through the Vishvedevas
Ten universal gods are called by name and asked to stand as a circle of guardianship around you and your household.
Endurance in long work
Uttara Ashadha governs efforts that ripen slowly. Devotees offer this homa when a study, a build or a venture must be carried through to the end.
Prosperity that holds
Traditionally sought for steady, unhurried gain — the kind the elders called sthira lakshmi, wealth that stays.
Relief from nakshatra affliction
When transits or a dasha press on your janma tara, the homa is the classical remedy prescribed to lighten that pressure.
Clarity before a decision
Aparajita, the unconquered star, is invoked before undertakings that must not be abandoned halfway.

The most auspicious days for an Uttara Ashadha Nakshatra Homa
These are the days the tradition favours for this homa:
The single most fitting day — when the Moon transits your janma nakshatra, the star is considered most receptive to offerings made in your name.
Uttara Ashadha is ruled by the Sun, so Sundays, Ratha Saptami and the Sankranti days are held to be favourable.
Aparajita, the unconquered, is worshipped on Dashami. Devotees choose this day when a long undertaking is about to begin.
Your nakshatra birthday, or a waxing-Moon morning in Uttarayana, is chosen when no urgent transit sets the date.
You do not need to wait for one of these days. Whenever you book, our astrologers calculate the muhurta from your own birth chart — a date chosen for you personally, which tradition regards as more precise than a calendar date chosen for everyone. If you would like the homa on one of the days above, tell us at checkout and we will fix the muhurta within it.
What you receive
The sealing of the Uttara Ashadha Nakshatra Yantra
When your homa concludes, the yantra that stood in the fire is rolled and locked inside its silver amulet according to Agama vidhi — the practice by which the energies raised in a ritual are held within a consecrated object rather than dispersing. It is why a homa performed at our ashram can still reach a devotee ten thousand miles away: what the fire raised travels to you, sealed.
Personal sankalpa
Your name, gotra & nakshatra — for you and up to five family members.
Live telecast
Watch your own homa in real time from the ashram. Streamed openly on our YouTube channel by default — or request a private, unlisted telecast at checkout.
Free energised Uttara Ashadha Nakshatra Yantra, sealed in a silver amulet
Consecrated over three days — Jala (holy-water consecration with mantras), Prana (life force through pranayama & chants) and Jeeva Pratishta (awakened with 108 recitations & offerings) — then present through your homa, receiving the energies raised in the fire. Immediately afterwards it is rolled and sealed inside a silver amulet by Agamic rite, locking those energies within, and shipped to you with your prasadam.
Prasadam, shipped free
Sacred vibhuti, sandalwood powder & kumkum from your fire — delivered to any country.
Yantra Pujas inside our consecrated sanctum
48-Day Anushthan (optional) — daily pujas for 48 days — the 27 Nakshatras + 12 Rashis + 9 Planets — then sealed in a silver amulet of approximately 2–4 inches. Performed in our consecrated sanctum at the Yagna Ashram.
A note on sacred tradition
As per strict Agama vidhi, no videography is permitted inside the temple sanctum — this preserves the pure sacred energies and undisturbed divine focus of the ritual. The main homa is respectfully telecast live from outside the sanctum.
Homas are telecast openly on our YouTube channel so that devotees everywhere may witness the rituals — and because we believe you should be able to see our work before you trust us with yours. Your sankalpa names you and your family, so if you would rather your ceremony were not public, choose the private telecast option at checkout and it is streamed as an unlisted link visible only to you.
We state this plainly — transparency about what tradition forbids filming, and about what is public, is part of performing these rituals honestly.

The Vishvedevas
The Vishvedevas are the assembly of universal gods, a collective invoked again and again in the Rig Veda when no single devata is singled out and the whole company of heaven is called to the offering. Tradition counts them as ten, sons of Dharma and Vishva, named in the Puranas with qualities such as steadfastness, truth, right action and timely giving. They have no fixed single form; they are pictured as a seated council, honoured together at the sacred grass and invited to take their share of ghee. As presiding lords of the twenty-first star, they stand for effort that ripens slowly and for promises that are kept. Devotees turn to them when work needs endurance rather than speed, and when an undertaking must hold its ground over long seasons. Pitru rites also call on them as witnesses.
In this homa that grace is invoked through fire, with your own name and birth details spoken in the sankalpa.
