The Ritual and Its Weight

Swayamvara Kala Parvathi Homa is a fire ritual addressed to Parvathi in the form she took when she chose her own husband. Before she was Shiva's consort she was a young ascetic in the Himalayas, holding one intention through years of tapas. That single-minded resolve is the power the tradition calls Swayamvara Kala — the art of drawing to oneself the partner one is meant to have. Ghee, sesame, red flowers and the swayamvara mantra go into the fire on your behalf, with your name, birth star and gotra spoken aloud.

people turn to this homa when a marriage seems to keep slipping — proposals that stall, alliances that break at the last step, or years passing with nothing settling. Astrologers read such delays in the seventh house, in Venus, in the placements around Mars and Rahu. The homa is the traditional remedial response: not a shortcut, but a prayer offered through fire, asking Devi to clear what stands in the way and to bring a suitable, compatible partner forward. Married devotees book it too, for warmth and understanding to return to a strained home.

ॐ ह्रीं योगिनि योगिनि योगेश्वरि योगभयंकरि सकल स्थावर जंगमस्य मुख हृदयं मम वशमाकर्ष आकर्ष स्वाहा O Yogini, mistress of yoga, awe-inspiring one, draw towards me the face and the heart of all that moves and all that stands still, and let them be turned to me in love.

Why Devotees Book This

The swayamvara parvathi homam benefits described in the tradition centre on marriage — its arrival, its choosing and its keeping.

For a suitable life partner

Offered when you are seeking marriage and want a compatible, well-matched alliance to come forward.

For delays that will not lift

Traditionally prescribed where alliances stall repeatedly, or where astrological delay in the seventh house is indicated.

For alliances that keep breaking

Devotees book this when talks reach the final step and then collapse, again and again.

For harmony in marriage

Married couples offer it for patience, affection and easier understanding between them.

For clarity in choosing

The rite is offered for a settled mind — so that you recognise the right person and are not swayed by fear or haste.

For blessings on the family

Parents book it in a child's name, adding their own prayer to the offerings made in the fire.

Sacred timing

The most auspicious days for a Swayamvara Kala Parvathi Homa

Devi-centred days carry this homa best.

Fridays

The day of the Goddess, and the most commonly chosen for Swayamvara Kala Parvathi Homa.

Uttara Phalguni, Rohini and Swati nakshatras

Stars associated with marriage and union are favoured for the sankalpa.

Navaratri and Chaitra Shukla Tritiya

Devi's nine nights, and the Tritiya sacred to Gauri, are held to be especially fruitful.

Pradosham and Shukla Paksha days

The waxing fortnight and Pradosham evenings, when Shiva and Parvathi are worshipped together.

You do not need to wait for one of these days. Whenever you book, our astrologers calculate the muhurta from your own birth chart — a date chosen for you personally, which tradition regards as more precise than a calendar date chosen for everyone. If you would like the homa on one of the days above, tell us at checkout and we will fix the muhurta within it.

What you receive

The sealing of the Swayamvara Parvathi Yantra

When your homa concludes, the yantra that stood in the fire is rolled and locked inside its silver amulet according to Agama vidhi — the practice by which the energies raised in a ritual are held within a consecrated object rather than dispersing. It is why a homa performed at our ashram can still reach a devotee ten thousand miles away: what the fire raised travels to you, sealed.

Personal sankalpa

Your name, gotra & nakshatra — for you and up to five family members.

Live telecast

Watch your own homa in real time from the ashram. Streamed openly on our YouTube channel by default — or request an unlisted telecast at checkout.

Free energised Swayamvara Parvathi Yantra, sealed in a silver amulet

Consecrated over three days — Jala (holy-water consecration with mantras), Prana (life force through pranayama & chants) and Jeeva Pratishta (awakened with 108 recitations & offerings) — then present through your homa, receiving the energies raised in the fire. Immediately afterwards it is rolled and sealed inside a silver amulet by Agamic rite, locking those energies within, and shipped to you with your prasadam.

Prasadam, shipped free

Sacred vibhuti, sandalwood powder & kumkum from your fire — delivered to any country.

Yantra Pujas inside our consecrated sanctum

48-Day Anushthan (optional) — daily pujas for 48 days — the 27 Nakshatras + 12 Rashis + 9 Planets — then sealed in a silver amulet of approximately 2–4 inches. Performed in our consecrated sanctum at the Yagna Ashram.

A note on sacred tradition

As per strict Agama vidhi, no videography is permitted inside the temple sanctum — this preserves the pure sacred energies and undisturbed divine focus of the ritual. The main homa is respectfully telecast live from outside the sanctum.

Homas are telecast openly on our YouTube channel so that devotees everywhere may witness the rituals — and because we believe you should be able to see our work before you trust us with yours. Your sankalpa names you and your family, so if you would rather your ceremony were not public, choose the private telecast option at checkout and it is streamed as an unlisted link, which does not appear on our channel or in search, though anyone who has the link can watch it and share it.

We state this plainly — transparency about what tradition forbids filming, and about what is public, is part of performing these rituals honestly.

After it arrives

How to wear your energised Swayamvara Parvathi Yantra

The energised yantra is carefully rolled and sealed inside a sacred silver amulet before shipping. Wearing it is itself a small ritual.

01

Your auspicious time to wear it

Wear it for the first time on a Friday, between 6.30 and 7.30 in the morning. Bathe first, place the yantra on your pooja altar and offer your prayers, then wear it around your neck or your waist, on a red or black thread or a silver chain.

02

At a funeral

Take the yantra off before you attend a funeral.

03

Purify the amulet

Whenever the yantra has been taken off, or if it was worn at a funeral, dip it in raw milk or Ganga jal, show it incense, dhoop or attar (perfume), and then wear it again.

04

Keep the energy intact

You may repeat this energising once a week or once a month.

Who is invoked

Swayamvara Parvathi

Here Devi stands as Parvathi in the moment of her own choosing — the daughter of the mountain who set her heart on Shiva and held to it through long years of tapas in the Himalayan cold. Puranic accounts tell of her penance, her refusal of easier matches, and Shiva's testing of her resolve before he accepted her. She is shown young and serene, red-clad, adorned as a bride, often with a lotus in hand and a gentle face turned toward her chosen lord. The tradition names her power Swayamvara Kala, the art of drawing to oneself the one who belongs with you. Devotees approach her as Gauri, the auspicious one, who governs union, wedded life and the steadiness that keeps a household whole.

In this homa that grace is invoked through fire, with your own name and birth details spoken in the sankalpa.

Questions

Frequently asked

It is a Vedic fire ritual to Parvathi in her Swayamvara Kala form — the aspect in which she performed tapas and chose Shiva as her husband. The swayamvara mantra is chanted while ghee, sesame and red flowers are offered into the homa fire. Devotees offer it to find a life partner, to clear delays in marriage, and for harmony within an existing marriage. In Tamil Nadu it is widely known as swayamvara kala parvathi homam, and the same rite is performed with Tamil-language sankalpa when devotees ask for it.
The homa recalls the moment Parvathi's long penance bore fruit and she took Shiva as her own. Its significance lies in that resolve: the tradition holds that the same grace, invoked through fire, helps a devotee draw the partner destined for them. Your name, nakshatra and gotra are placed in the sankalpa, so the offerings are made specifically for you. The rite is performed on your behalf at our Yagna Ashram and telecast live so you can watch every offering.
The swayamvara parvathi pooja benefits named in the tradition are: the coming forward of a suitable and compatible alliance, relief from repeated delays and broken talks, affection and patience between husband and wife, a calm mind in choosing a partner, and Devi's blessing on the household. These are the purposes the rite is prescribed for — the fruit rests with the Goddess and with your own karma.
Unmarried men and women seeking marriage, those whose alliances keep stalling, couples wanting greater harmony at home, and parents praying for a son's or daughter's marriage. Anyone may sponsor it, from any country. You do not perform it yourself and you do not travel — our qualified priests perform it at the Yagna Ashram on your behalf, with your details in the sankalpa.
Fridays are the classic choice, being sacred to Devi. Marriage-friendly nakshatras such as Uttara Phalguni, Rohini and Swati are favoured, as are Navaratri, Chaitra Shukla Tritiya and the waxing fortnight. Our priests study your birth chart, select the muhurat and confirm the date and streaming time with you in advance.
The priests begin with achamana and Ganapathi puja, then the sankalpa in your name, nakshatra and gotra. Kalasha sthapana and the invocation of Swayamvara Kala Parvathi follow. Agni is kindled in the homa kunda and the swayamvara mantra is chanted with japa and ahutis of ghee, sesame, red flowers, kumkum, navadhanya, coconut and herbs. The rite closes with purnahuti, deepa aradhana, prasannapuja and prayers for your marriage. Samagri is arranged fully by the Ashram; nothing is required from you.
Choose the package on this page and submit your name, birth star, gotra and prayer online — swayamvara parvathi homam cost is shown for your country at checkout. Our team confirms the muhurat, sends you the live telecast link, and the priests perform the homa on your behalf at our Yagna Ashram. Prasadam and an energised Swayamvara Parvathi Yantra are then couriered to you, anywhere in the world, free of shipping charge.
Our silver amulets are specially made for everyday wear: copper is added to the silver to make them more durable. With regular use, the amulet may turn black, reddish or brown as it is exposed to heat and reacts with the chemicals in cosmetics. Wipe it regularly with a soft, dry cotton cloth, keep perfume and cosmetics away from it, and clean it by rubbing it gently with a pinch of vibhuti (sacred ash). Every six months, polish it with cotton dipped in a silver cleaner, but never soak or dip the amulet itself. Never open it, as the energies of the yantra are sealed inside. If it is ever damaged, send it back to us, not to a jeweller.
